P.S: For the start of the story it will be in 3rd person but will slowly morph to 1st, just to give an idea of the story.
'I wonder what it's like to be enough.'
16 year-old Quinn, was in her Health class, staring out the window in deep thought. She wasn't paying attention to the class because she didn't care. She knew it was the easiest class out of the rest. Besides it was the end of the year, she had no reason to try.
She glanced at the clock to see that it was 11:15 AM, 10 minutes till the class was over and she got to go home early. She sighed and continued to look out the window to see the track team practicing. In that team was her best friend, Ula, who she'd known since they were 3 years-old.
10 minutes later, the bell went off and Quinn gathered her things to leave. She waited near the entrance of the school for Ula, so they could walk home together.
"Hey!" Ula said.
"Hi. What took you so long?"
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, the coach needed me to help him."
"Okay." Quinn said as they began to walk to their neighborhood.
On their way home, they talked of clubs that they wanted to do next year as Juniors. Quinn wasn't interested in any but Ula named off 5 different sport-related clubs.
P.O.V- Quinn
"I wanna do Martial Arts and Basketball,. Oh! And Soccer, Softball and- hmm, .. Cross Country would be pretty cool. What clubs do you wanna do?"
"I'm not really interested in any really."
"Oh come on, there has to be at least one? Why not do a sport like me?"
"Because I'm lazy and would never have motivation."
"Fair."
~~~~~~
"Alright, well this is your stop, Ill see you tomorrow! Bye!"
"Bye."
'Peace and quiet, once again. I don't know why she is so persistent, I don't have to do any clubs at all, they're just a waste of-'
*Bump*
"Oh-h, I'm sorry."
'Oh great, not him.'
"Mm, it's alright, just pay attention and not get lost in your thoughts." Irvin said patting your head.
"I'll keep it in mind." I rushed past him.
'My boyfriend was the last person I wanted to run into today."
Irvin grabs my wrist, "Wait! I have a question."
"Shoot."
"Okay, I want to know if I could crash at your house cause I got kicked out of mine?"
'Typical.'
"You can't stay at Myles? Or Vans?"
"Nah, they're parents won't let me on school days, ya know?"
"I see, hmm.. Fine, but you're on the couch."
"Aw, I can't stay in your bed?"
"No."
"Why not?"
"Cause you don't know how to behave, come on or I'm gonna lock you out."
"Okay, Okay."
I started to walk at a fast pace but he slows me down by grabbing my hand. It's been a while since I've seen him, he is normally with his friends, doing stupid things like normal. I'm surprised I ran into him today, maybe he can improve my mood by just being around.
While I unlock the door, Irvin patiently looks around like he has never been here before.
"Okay, I don't have clothes for you-"
"It's okay, I brought some of my things while being in the process of being kicked out."
"Okay.. So what did you do this time?"
"Same thing, I got kicked out for smoking in the house, the normal."
"Maybe you should stop."
He shrugs, "I've tried, It's my happiness."
'Ouch.'
"Oh, that's cool, I guess.." My voice trails off.
"Is something wrong?"
"No."
"That's a lie. Tell me."
"It's nothing, really." I raised my hands to wave him off.
He grabs me and hugs me.
"I need you to be okay, I know I'm not the greatest but I care and I know I'm not always around to hold you like this and I'm sorry."
"Stop, you're fine."
"Can we just stay like this for a while? I've missed you even if it doesn't seem like it."
"Fine."
'I shouldn't have asked, I knew this would happen.'
'I know I actually mean nothing to him, I can't even be his happiness the drugs do it for him.'
"You don't care.."
