Daniel observed the girl with great amusement despite that she paid no attention to him whatsoever. It was as if she wasn't even aware there was another human being just five feet across from her. All her attention was garnered into the thin piece of paper in her hands.

She was concentrating so intensely that Daniel had to stop himself from letting out a chuckle. If she stared into that map for another second, it might burst into flames, he thought.

So he put down his book and decided to distract her.

"Hello," Daniel called loudly in his go-to customer service voice.

It took longer than a second for the girl to react but when she finally did, she had to take a moment to look around the almost empty train to check if the greeting had been meant for someone else. Realising there was only two of them in the carriage, she briefly looked at Daniel and gave a quick smile before focusing on her map again.

Let's try again, he muttered inaudibly to himself.

"I severely hope you're not attempting to ignite that poor map into flames. It's dangerous," he mused, crossing his thin arms.

There girl merely looked slightly off the map but not towards Daniel, her eyebrows furrowed. She blinked twice before returning her attention on the paper once again.

Daniel merely smiled. There must be something he could do to make her divert her attention from that ruddy map.

"What's your major?" he suddenly asked, and that seemed to have done it.

The girl immediately looked up to glare at Daniel so fiercely that he had to consider for a second if he shouldn't have asked what he had asked. She glared at him with so much distaste that he almost felt like he was about to burst into flames. But he didn't. Instead, he smiled most politely at the girl.

She did not return it and pored over the map once more as if she was trying to memorise the damn thing. But this time, she held her map so that it blocked her face from Daniel's - a gesture to refrain Daniel from further trying to make conversation.

She must think I'm some random molester or something, he thought. Blimey, do I look that seedy? He wondered as he examined his clothes and checked himself on the reflection on the window across. Nothing about him seemed suspicious, or at least he looked pretty normal.

Well, normal being an understatement. Daniel looked good, and he knew he looked good. A narcissistic tendency caused by his narcissistic personality disorder - which is just one item in a tremendously long list of things that made Daniel Kaito, well, Daniel Kaito. He had so many quirks about him that if the next time he went to the doctor he was diagnosed with DID, he probably wouldn't be surprised.

With that thought, Daniel chuckled to himself. Apparently and unfortunately a little too loudly, because the girl had slightly lowered her map to eye him dubiously, as if assuming he'd gone bonkers in the last twenty seconds. For all Daniel knew, he probably had. But in leau, he faked a cough and picked up his book again to continue his reading.

After ten minutes of what seemed like eternity, the train finally arrived at Cambridge Station.

The girl immediately stood up and made her way to the sliding doors just as Daniel was packing his book back into his bag. As he stood, the girl gave him another mistrusting look, and all Daniel could do was blink in confusion.

He was starting to consider if he should tell her he goes to the same university but he was having a thoroughly fun time watching her react as he followed her on the sidewalk on the way to the campus.
