Part one: Five months in the past; the beginning.

Chapter 2- "Everyone calm down." Um hell no! Where are the nearest exists?

I woke up from my nightmare in a rush. My heart was pounding and it was difficult to breathe. My mind kept on spinning, going over the parts of my nightmare. The dream was too vivid for my taste. It was real though; every part of it was real. How I screamed for help, and the blood. There was so much blood...

I shook my head to get rid of the images. Shakily, I got up from bed to turn on the light. Then I laid back down on my bed. After a few deep breaths, I calmed down a little bit and my breathing went back to normal, but my dream (memories) still haunted me.

"Think about daises." My mother's voice suddenly filled my thoughts.

Daises. I almost smiled to myself. My mother used to tell me think about daises whenever I was scared or sad, since daises were my favorite flowers. However, how many times I thought about daises, I still had a feeling that something awful was going to happen.

*********

I was in biology and bored out of mind. I tapped my finger anxiously on the desk, waiting for class to end. The person next to me was coughing violently and I (unsuccessfully) tried to move away from him. That was about the twentieth person sick today, so far. Everyone sick looked the same: sweaty, hair matted, pale or dry looking skin and dull eyes. It was probably a new bug or something. I tuned out the teacher's lecture and started to count down the minutes until class finished.

"Mrs. Clarke, can you please answer the question?"

I snapped my head towards the teacher. He was waiting patiently. I wasn't paying attention so I did the best next thing, I blinked at him.

"Well Nicolette?" He asked.

I could tell he was losing his patience. Oh well, I guess I should have paid attention, but I didn't care for school. I opened my mouth to come up with some answer, when there was a loud thud next to me. I turned to see the student who was coughing loudly on the floor. He was twitching violently in a convulsive manner. His eyes rolled back into his head and his mouth was wide open. Someone in the class screamed and the teacher rushed to the student's side. He told a student to call the nurse and the main office, and then he told us to leave the classroom. While outside the classroom, two nurses and the assistant principal rushed past us. When the nurses past us, one of them mumbled something; it sounded suspiciously like "not again."

The bell rang, signaling the end of class. I walked down the hallway and into the cafeteria for lunch. I was slightly in a daze. Did he have a seizure? Or was it because he was sick? What kind of cold or virus caused someone to have spasms?

"Nicolette!" a familiar very whiny voice said.

I turned around to Kaylie coming towards me. I groaned inwardly. I did not have the tolerance to deal with her today. I could easily turn around and go the other way but Kaylie already reached me.

"Do you know where Simon is?" Kaylie asked.

I blinked at her. Why would I know where that pig is? My mind went back to what happened yesterday with him and that girl. Ehh, yeah, he was definitely a pig.
