The call ended. I couldn't help but worry about it. I couldn't even go and see her.

Or at least not by myself. Of course there was solutions. But it would be hard to persuade him.

"Oi Felix!" I yelled vociferously from my room.

"What?" A tired and annoyed voice came from his room.

"I need you to drive me somewhere." I knew he wouldn't want to, but in this situation he kind of had to.

"Why don't you just learn to drive yourself." he asked.

In reality I just didn't want to. I was older than Felix but, yeah. I'm just teaching him to be responsible?

He came out of his own room, obvious that he had woken up not long ago. His hair was flicked up, imitating the Burj Khalifa on top of his head. His face, pale, showing the small sprinkles of brown across his face.

"I'm just gonna have brekkie real quick." He exclaimed.

"Sure."

"You're up earlier than usual. Is everything ok?" Concern enveloped Felix's voice, he knew it wasn't like me to get up at these ungodly hours (even though it was 8, that's early).

"I'm, yeah I guess." I didn't really know how to say it. Could anyone just say it easily?

"You know, you're really shit at lying."

"Yeah, I know." I replied looking down to the bowl of cereal in front of me. The spoon held by hand poke and prodded at the corn flakes. I'd lost my appetite.

"Mate, look, I'm sorry I was a bit of a dick before, but you really don't seem good." Felix said, his face was home to a worried frown.

"Can I just explain in the car?" I asked, getting up from my chair.

"Sure,"

Disposing of the cereal, I rinsed the bowl. The milk mixed with the water and created a cloudiness.

~~

"Where are we going?" Felix asked as he was drive from the drive way.

"The hospital." I said as he pulled out of the driveway.

"Are you right mate?" Felix looked at me his eyebrow furrowed.

"I'm fine." I said bluntly "Mum's not though."

Felix's head spun immediately. My mum was like a mum to him. Our families were basically one. Felix and I saw each other as brothers.

As soon as I said what I had, he sped up.

"Slow down. Please." I said desperately.

~~

"Are you ok? Mum, please." I asked desperately.

Tubes and wire slung from machines to her limply laying body. She wasn't dead, but on the verge of being so.

"Please don't leave us. You can't." I whispered holding her hand.

"She'll be fine soon enough." A soothing voice spoke in the softest tone.

I nodded. My eyes started to let go of fluid, I could feel it fall hesitantly down my face.

"She doesn't look fine." A soft mumble caught on my choking throat.

"I need some fresh air." I said, taking off from my chair.

"Chris!" A person called out. I knew it was Felix, my legs slowly stopped although not really wanting to.

"I know you'll be here for a while. Don't try to argue, I know you too well. Call me when you need me to get. She'll be right ok?" He said, his voice so understanding.

"Thanks." I really didn't feel like talking.

I ran off through the intoxicating white halls of the hospital. It was cluttered withe wheel chair. Other things too, but they didn't seem important.

~~

A door, was opening to the outside world. It looked so peaceful and inviting, I couldn't help but to go.

My body collapsed into a park bench. My head hung leaning into the support of my arms. My back arched over.

Why did this have to happen to such a good person? It's not fair.

The sound of bare feet on concrete came from my left. I repeatedly thought "please don't talk to me". But that's not exactly useful.

"Hey, uh, are you okay?" A soft voice spoke. Her voice wavered, she sounded surprisingly sweet.

"Not really."
