Mantle Rises From The Ashes

*Author POV*

Since the meeting, (Y/N) soon became the most prominent and recognizable figure for the Mantle Independence Party and his face was plastered onto all the propaganda produced by the M.I.P

(L/N) has held many speeches not he in Mantle, but in the other kingdoms as well in an attempt to gain support from the other kingdoms when the Revolution occurred and Mantle rose from the ashes left by the Great War

But, with the fame came the hate which mostly came from Atlas, Faunus racists, and rich businessmen throughout Remnant. Many members of Atlesion government, including James Ironwood, spoke out against (L/N) and the M.I.P, calling them 'terrorists' and 'radicals' in an attempt to silence and debase their arguments.

(L/N) did not take these accusations lightly, denouncing them in passionate speeches and mass produced M.I.P propaganda. The people of Mantle grew restless and began mass protesting Atlas and its policies in a way to pressure the government into giving into their demands.

On this particular day, (Y/N) was again talking to the people of Mantle and was currently coming to the end of his speech... And that's where we'll jump in!

*Third Person POV*

The crowd cheered loudly as (Y/N) took a moment to pause and let the crowd cheer, soaking in all the attention as he again began to speak..

(Y/N): "Now my brothers and sisters of Mantle, allow me to ask you a question..."

The crowd waited eagerly

(Y/N): "The question I ask you is a fairly simple question... How much do we, the people, know about Atlas' military research?"

There was murmuring among the people in the crowd as they couldn't come up with an answer

(Y/N): "The answer is, absolutely NOTHING! Atlas keeps us all in the dark as they go and create devastating weapons, participate in inhumane experiments, and support the slavery and mistreatment of Faunus!"

The crowd cheered as they all agreed with (Y/N)'s words as he again paused... But, before he could begin to speak again, multiple shots rang out and (Y/N) dropped... The shooter was taken down by fellow spectators and soon apprehended by the M.I.P security detail

However, (Y/N) was taken to a hospital as he was hit by multiple shots. He was in somewhat critical condition when he was rolled into the local hospital and taken to the emergency room for surgery.

The man responsible for the shooting was a disgruntled Atlesion solider who had quite the bone to pick with Mr. (L/N) and his "defamatory claims" against the Kingdom of Atlas and its leaders.

After news of the attempted assassination, many protests broke out across Remnant with the purpose of opposing and pressuring Atlas into giving Mantle its independence. However, there were also those who supported Atlas and the assassination attempt, calling for the death of (L/N) and the imprisonment of M.I.P leaders and members. The huntsman academy headmasters spoke out against the attempt, one of the headmasters that spoke out against Atlas was the headmaster of Beacon Academy, the youngest headmaster ever appointed, Headmaster Ozpin gave a speech to his students and to the rest of Remnant being sympathetic to the Mantle Independence Party's cause.

With all the pressure coming from basically everywhere, it was only a matter of time until Atlas gave in and gave the M.I.P what it wants...

*Timeskip*

Atlas held out though, after two years of continued pressure and social outcry against the kingdom, the Atlesion council voted in favor of granting Mantle its independence and would hold elections a week later. But, since the M.I.P was really the only political party Atlas created its own puppet party called the 'Atlas Reunification Party' or A.R.P
