Tensions Rising & The Hunt for The Child

After (Y/N)'s meeting with Commander Kizer, things only proceeded to escalate as tensions built between Vacuo and New Mantle over the next two months. And with those building tensions came efforts to ease them from various outside entites. Ozpin tried to get the two parties to come together to talk about the issues but the talks fell through after remarks made by both sides ensured that it wouldn't happen.

The fortification and full on militarization of Menagerie was going smoothly but had hit a rough patch or two as there seemed to be some local resistance beginning to form just underneath the surface. The airfield was fully operational but lacked enough aircraft to have a full airforce on the island and a small force that was left over from the initial invasion. The search for the child of Kali and Ghira wasn't making as much progress as Commander Kizer and Chancellor (L/N) would've liked which prompted the Chancellor to send Kizer to,

Chancellor (L/N): "Motivate the director to get us the desired results by any means necessary..."

It took a few days but the Commander eventually arrived and that is where this chapter begins...

Ahh the fresh Menagerie air! The Chancellor has sent me not only get a summary of the progress of our military forces here but to also 'encourage' the director to get the Chancellor results in the search for the Belladonna girl. I personally don't understand why he is so hellbent on finding her since she's only a child and I honestly don't have high hopes that she is alive... Poor girl, I only hope that if we do find her that the Chancellor reunites her with her mother.

Anyway, as I made my way to our command center I couldn't help but notice the glares from a few civilians walking passed me. I don't blame them really, having their whole lives flipped upside down and watching their island be turned into a military installation. It took me a minute or two more of walking until I finally arrived at our temporary HQ on the island, the permanent one is being built where the Belladonna's home once stood.
