Apologies

I'm Sorry.

I am sorry on behalf of what governments think that they can rule.  I am apologizing for something that governments often do, but seems as if I have no control over. But I am sorry that some people's stubborn minds that can't handle people who are seemingly different from them  make rules of discrimination.

I feel that I can perhaps relate a little, being that I am Japanese-American. I have had a little taste of injustice and discrimination. Of little to no representation. I know this is not a comparison or an "I know exactly how you feel" statement. I am an ally.

I am sorry and embarrassed of the school systems that think that they can control who you are. I am sorry for the administration and districts that don't get it, and make students miserable for being who you are.

I am so sorry and embarrassed for the church. I am lucky to be a part of a church that is loving and accepting with open arms for the LGBTQ+ community. But I know that for a large percentage of churches across America, that is not the same. I get so frustrated when I hear about that because to me - they are not representing what I think is a Christian value. Love. I don't want to bring up religion or get too preachy, but in my understanding Christianity is mainly about loving others and loving God. I do not see how these other churches can say they are Christian believers when they don't love. It makes me so angry, and honestly it makes me embarrassed that they call themselves Christian. That is not what we are about.

I am sorry for anyone who bullies you are calls you names. Nobody deserves that. Nobody. Not even them. But please, don't let them get to you. You have something they don't have- confidence to be yourself. They lack the basic confidence to not make fun of others. You're already a step ahead.
