"I won't give up, no I won't give in
Till I reach the end
And then I'll start again
No I won't leave
I wanna try everything
I wanna try even though I could fail"Yoongi told me that Taehyung was busy working for the past few days. I was a little upset, finding myself wanting to see the older. I missed how goofy he is, but I also realized that I missed the challenge of making him smile or laugh. I could tell he was always forcing himself to appear happy, even though he was clearly struggling. I wanted to give him at least a few minutes of happiness every day, in the hopes that he would focus on that as a highlight instead of the shitty situation he is in.
I sat next to Yoongi on the couch, watching Zootopia, when I heard a knock on the door. Before I could get up, Yoongi stood up and answered. I heard the faint voices before two sets of footsteps began walking toward the couch. I looked up and saw Taehyung.
"Hey Tae."
He looked shocked. "You remembered my name today. That's progress." He stepped closer, his eyes turning to the screen. "Zootopia!" He plopped down next to me, taking a handful of popcorn from the bowl in my lap.
"You like Zootopia?"
He giggled, and it was music to my ears. "We used to watch it a lot. You love it."
I could faintly picture the two of us watching Zootopia, me sitting between his legs while his arms squeezed my waist. His head was on my shoulder as he would leave gentle kisses on my skin. I smiled thinking about the small glimpse of a memory.
My eyes continuously found themselves admiring Taehyung. His facial structure was perfect. His jawline was sharp yet smooth at the same time. I noticed a little freckle on the tip of his nose, and smiled to myself. That's when I noticed the change in his appearance and I raised an eyebrow.
"Did you dye your hair?"
He smiled at me before stealing some more popcorn. "I did. I wanted a change."
"Why orange?"
He shrugged. "Just a gut feeling." I turned to watch the movie again, when I noticed Nick Wilde, the fox. I started laughing, causing Taehyung and Yoongi to look at me strangely.
"Why are you laughing?" Yoongi's face was a mixture of amusement and confusion.
"With his orange hair, Taehyung kind of looks like a fox."
He spit out the water he had taken a sip of, choking slightly. "W-what?" He took out his phone and looked at himself using the reverse camera. "Oh come on, Jungkook! Now I definitely have to dye my hair again." He messed with a few strands of his hair, pouting. I patted a hand on his thigh, making him visibly tense up.
"It's okay, hyung. I like foxes."
He gave a small smile. "Well it's a good thing that I like bunnies because you look like one."
"Wow, so we're Judy and Nick in real life? Crazy!"
He laughed for a few seconds before I spoke again. "I guess it's a good thing they don't end up dating like people expected."
His laughter seized as he frowned, nodding his head slightly. I noticed Yoongi flash him a look before patting him on the shoulder. I ignored the moment and returned to the movie, munching on the small amount of popcorn remaining in the bowl.
After a minute, Taehyung excused himself, escaping to the bathroom. After a few minutes, he returned, eyes slightly puffy. He grabbed his keys, which had fallen out of his pocket on the couch. His voice was soft when he spoke, and a little hoarse.
"I should get going. I will see you soon." His eyes avoided mine when he spoke. He rushed out of the apartment, leaving me confused. I grabbed the remote, pausing the movie and turning to Yoongi.
"What happened?"
Yoongi scoffed, wiping his palms on his pants. "He's just sensitive. He is trying hard to help you but it's hard on him too. Every time you say that you're just friends with him, it pains him. He tries to hold it in, but eventually he's going to break."
"Oh." I played with the hem of my shirt, feeling bad, but knowing that my shitty memory would possibly forget this conversation in a few hours.
We spent the day watching more movies, and eventually I forgot that Taehyung had stopped by at all.
