Eva's Pov

Another thirty minutes later I stood at the top of the Grand Staircase in the entrance hall. I glanced at Signora De Luca nervously. 'This is your family. You're related to them! These are your cousins!' I thought to myself as De Luca gave me a curt nod before I descended the stairs. Stairs that had seen hundreds of years of my family walking on them. They've seen almost every generation of the British royal family since Pulchritudo was built just thirty years after the monarch was formed.

I walked into the blue parlor where my guests sat.

"I present Eva Elizabetta Margrethe Mariella Vittoria D'Abruzzio of Naples and Campania," Said one of our footmen as he bowed before closing the door and leaving.

I drew in a deep breathe mentally switching to English before bowing and saying, "Good morning your highnesses. I hope your travels were pleasant."

Countess Alexandra, Nikolai's mother, stood up along with the others. She came up to me and hugged me warmly, "Oh, you've grown so much since I last saw you! You're even more beautiful than before!"

"Grazie di cuore!" I said but De Luca gave me pointed look from the other side of the room, "My mistake. I thank you from the bottom of my heart."

"It's fine, you probably haven't spoken English in months," Said Queen Letizia with a smile at me.

"You're correct your highness," I replied with a nervous smile.

"Please, call us all by our names. We're family and have no need for such formalities," Letizia corrected.

"With all due respect your majesty, that would be rude of Signorina Eva as she does not possess a royal title," De Luca butted in and turning up her long nose.

"Thank you for your input De Luca, but your services are not needed at this time. You may leave," I said finally sick of her self-imposed righteousness.

"But, Signorina!" She protested.

"Go," I said softly but firmly and she nodded silently stalking out of the room.

"What a dreadful governess!" Cried Victoria and I nodded.

"She's a nightmare. It's always 'A princess doesn't cough into her arm, a princess always wears matching socks!'. It's awful!" I agreed, sitting down on one of the chairs.

"So, how are you feeling about the wedding?" Asked Meghan with a kind smile.

"A bit nervous obviously. I just more concerned about how Nikolai and I are part of such a small gene pool. Wouldn't that increase the risk of problems with our expected children?" I asked.

"Oh not at all. When you were first born we had both of your DNA compared and the doctors deemed that they're different enough and actually provide improved children with stronger genes. You two are perfect for each other," Alexandra said with a smile as she placed her hand over mine comfortingly.

"What about personality wise?" I prodded.

"Oh, you'll get along quite well. He's a sweet boy but needs someone to tell him what to do," said Mary and I nodded.

"So, when do I leave for Denmark?" I asked as a footman offered me a lemonade.

"In just over a month," Said Alexandra.

About another hour or two passed of us talking and telling Meghan and Kate all sorts of embarrassing family stories. Finally, we said our goodbyes and they went to the guest house and I went back upstairs.

I collapsed on my bed and googled Prins Nikolai and went to images. 'Okay, he's actually attractive," I thought before opening Instagram.

I went onto my personal sighing. Human interaction is exhausting.
