I've been here before, I've watched them escape careless & fearlessly - their arms thrown up in the air, their laughter echoing among the wide empty roads, their faces illuminating the dimming night sky.
I've seen this practically a million times; I know what they'll do, what they won't and honestly, I don't intend on watching it all over again.
A quarter past midnight, one sleek black convertible, four friends, the infinite highway.
There was a brawly jock with jet black hair and a golden summer complexion - Tan Guy; an extremely thin girl with long dirty blond hair and pixie facial features - Skinny Girl, a guy with glowing wide blue eyes and smooth wavy hair the color of rich chocolate - Bright Eyes - and lastly, a rosy girl with short messed up wavy hazel hair and fox like facial features - Hazel.
I was aware that these were obviously not their real names but considering I had to watch them redundantly in my mind I might as well name them – and being the ever so creative girl I am (note the sarcasm) – I came up with Tan Guy, Skinny Girl, Bright Eyes, & Hazel.
"Long live the reckless and the brave!" Tan Guy screams at the top of his lungs his powerful voice booming with the speakers. His arm is stretched up to the glittering night sky as the other held a loose grip on the steering wheel.
"I don't think I want to be saved!" Jumps in Skinny Girl completely out of tuned, her high pitched voice chiming in their ears.
"My song has not been sung!" Bright Eyes sings along with them, his deep voice echoing through the roads - a beautiful symphony. He sits by the back seat with Hazel lying down on his lap, her head tucked to his hard chest, his arms wrapped around her waist.
"SO LONG LIVE UUUS!" All of them – including Hazel - holler melodiously following the line with endless euphoric laughter.
"WE – ARE - INVINCIBLE!" Squeals Skinny Girl, the phrase towed with a few Hoots and Woops by her enthusiastic friends. After a few ticking seconds, she leans in and whispers directly in Tan Guy's ear, "We are invincible, babe." Her breath lingered on Tan Guy making him wear a bright sweet smile. Skinny Girl couldn’t help but smile back, kissing his neck up to his jaw line leaving trails of red marks all over his golden skin.
"Babe you know I love it when you get all sexy but I’m kind of trying to drive right now.” Surprisingly his voice is steady despite the sensations burning in him.
“Now or never,” Skinny Girl pouts, Tan Guy sighs and takes a moment to look at Skinny Girl in the eye - ordering - she laughs then rolls her eyes sitting up properly back on her seat. “Guess it’s never.” She scrunches up her face matching it with a pout while folding her arms up her chest. Tan Guy chuckles while ruffling her hair, finding it one of the most adorable antics ever.
"You’re too cute.” Tan Guy teases, pecking her on the forehead - short and sweet - before eyeing intently back at the road.
"Least, our forever starts right now." Interjects Bright Eyes who was all tangled up in Hazel - she was sitting on his lap, Bright Eyes firmly in between her knees, her arms wrapped around his neck, his hands on her waist, foreheads pressed, eyelashes crisscrossed, lips an inch away.
"Cheesy sick," Skinny Girl does a fake gagging sound at the sight of them coiled together – the sound was apparently a good enough cue for Hazel to lean in and close the remaining space.
Bright Eyes and Hazel's kiss starts slow off at first - as though they were savoring each others taste. They had all the time they had. Their mouths started to fully melt into each other having lost the "his" or "hers" making it simply "theirs". Bright Eyes places his hands on her sides - under her shirt - feeling her soft skin under his grasp. She laughs in between, breaking the kiss to giggle or smile in joy - so does he.
Tan Guy peers at them from the rear view mirror seeing Bright Eyes digging his fingers under Hazel's shirt playfully. "Dude my car, don’t even-" Slurping sounds arise as their tongues slide against each other, Tan Guy groans in disgust rolling his eyes.
"We're so switching places later." Skinny Girl groans back trying to look completely disturbed. Still, she couldn't help but smile a little at the sight of the dazed lovebirds at the back – Hazel was probably her best friend and this was probably a very rare moment.
"God I can't believe this." Hazel mutters under her breath - her heart pounding hard from her chest. Bright Eyes smiles, opening his eyes letting their eyelashes sow together as they flutter simultaneously.
"Believe it, we're free." His breathe lingers in Hazel's mouth a bittersweet taste she's been yearning for.
"No chains."
"No walls."
"No take backs."
"No hiding."
"Forever?"
"Forever."
She beams, tears slightly prickling up in her eyes - she blinks them away as she closes her eyes and leans in for another kiss. Bright Eyes chuckles under his breath, mouthing “I - LOVE – YOU” before their lips could crash once again. The moment their lips fused -
"STOOOOP!" Skinny Girl's scream causes them to pull away completely fazed.
"Shit shit!" Tan Guy utters under his breath trying to shift the car's direction.
A blinding white light beamed towards them - their ears crammed with the roaring horns from the vehicle heading towards them. Hazel squints her eyes trying to figure out what's going on, her vision obscure her hearing abstracted. Bright Eyes could barely look in the direction of the deafening sounds aware enough of what he was about to see. Death. They were all struck with fear - screaming, screeching, motionless, shock.
"Nooooo!" Cries Hazel, tears flowing from her fear stricken eyes. Her hands gripping on Bright Eyes’ tightly, her face so pitiful, I could barely look at her.
Then, the world slows down for a fragment of a second as the two cars slowly crash -
BOOOOOOOOOM!!!
Ear-piercing sounds of skidded tires, crashing cars and depressed hopeless screams - collide all at once, enthralling complete and utter regret from each one of these distinct friends.
Then after all the noise; silence embraces the road, miniscule flames blazing from the crash, heavy smoke filling the area - slowly clearing out. Once the thick air dissolves I find them - drenched in blood, moaning and groaning, silently crying, agonizing pain rising in their bodies.
"Stay with me..." The wavering words manage to flow from Bright Eyes' mouth, whispering it softly to his dear Hazel.
Having a weak attempt to - Hazel takes his hand, whispering back with her tone completely fragile,
"Forever-"

It's kind of confusing and short - I know. Answers will be given once you hold on and wait for the up coming chapters. Trust me, it'll get much much more interesting soon. So far, what do you think? Hope you enjoyed it! Please vote, comment, add to reading list, share. lol. Basically do whatever you can to spread this story.
P.S
The video by the side is one of my most favorite songs ever, listening to it kind of reminds me of these four friends. Tan Guy, Skinny Girl, Bright Eyes and Hazel. I know it sound weird right now but you'll see in the end what they mean and what this dream is exactly trying to portray.
Love,
Just Jamille.
