Summer's Here!

Greetings! This is Kaley, back with another Percico Fanfiction! It would help me out if you guys could give me criticism/ ideas for my next chapter(s). Thank you! Nico sat in a chair in the middle of Camp Half Blood lake, on the coast of Long Island Sound. He was watching Percy swim with Annabeth. Every once in a while, he would pull Annabeth close for a kiss, as they splashed around and swam laps close in hand. Nico sighed and turned away, looking at Jason Grace. Jason was the first person who knew about his crush on Percy. Actually, it was more than a crush-more like a deep affection. Nico had witnessed Percy grow up to become strong, brave, and confident over the years. After the last battle involving Gaea, the terrible Greek Goddess of the earth, Percy seemed like a new person. He had been through so much affliction and suffering, in and out of Tartarus. Annoyingly, this made Nico love Percy even more.

''Hey, Nico. You look distracted. Anything on your mind?'' Jason questioned. He had just arrived from the Nike cabin and took a seat next to him. Nico couldn't look at the blonde boy. Jason had offered friendship with Nico after learning his secret, Nico's confession forced by Eros. But Nico couldn't accept it. Friends never felt real to him.

''This is the last summer Percy will spend at Camp Half-Blood.  He knew I liked him, but I think he feels differently about me. I tried to make things work with Will, but he had a hard time seeing me as any more than one of his patients. Percy doesn't know I still like him.''

Jason patted Nico on the shoulder. Nico flinched from the contact but didn't move. ''I'm sorry about Will. I know he was important to you. But Nico, more than anyone I know, you deserve to be happy. And if Percy makes you feel that way, you should tell him. Piper would tell you the same thing. '' Jason's girlfriend Piper was visiting her Father in Los Angeles. Him and Piper Iris-messaged every day. It was kind of annoying.

''Grace, you can't tell him anything. He thinks I've moved on. I wish things were different. I can't make him stay. Even if I tried.''

''Make who stay?'' Percy stood next to Nico, only in his swimming trunks, water dripping from his toned body. Annabeth has still in the water, but looked over at the pair and waved.  ''If you're talking about Will, Nico, you should definitely marry him. When he's old enough, of course. Hey Jason. '' Percy smiled up at Nico.

''Hey man, I just got here. I was helping Nike with her cabin arrangements. Zeus knows she needs them to be perfect. '' Jason rolled his eyes.

''Yeah, she's all like,  VICTORY BEATS ALL, GO FOR THE GOLD!" Percy said, imitating Nike. Jason laughed. ''Anyway, Nico, why don't you try swimming with us. I could teach you. I'm sure you'd have fun. I could give you lessons daily.''

''Jackson, are you joking me? Because children of Hades don't take lightly to jokes.'' Nico's mouth slowly formed into a pout.

Percy smiled up at Nico, his perfect sea-green eyes crinkling his skin at the edges. ''Aww! Nico, you are too cute for words. You look like a baby sea turtle hiding in its shell!''

Nico turned away from Percy, hiding his red flush. ''Shut up, Jackson. It's not that I don't want to go swimming, I just don't know how!'' Nico exclaimed.

Percy wrapped his arm around Nico's waist, which made his flush turn a darker shade of red. ''Jason, tell Annabeth I'll be back in a minute. I have to show Nico something in my cabin. With that, Percy strode arm and arm towards Cabin three, with Nico in tow.

''Ok, will do,'' Jason called out. I wonder what Percy has to show Nico. The poor guy looked so anxious.

A voice interrupted his thoughts. "Hey, Jason. Percy told me he was going to hang out with Nico awhile. Do you know anything about that?"

Annabeth, like Percy, had been through so much emotional, as well as physical pain and suffering in Tartarus. Girls like Annabeth didn't break from the tension. They became stronger. Annabeth accepted that Nico had a crush on Percy, after his big confession. But how would she feel when she knew Nico still loved Percy.

"Anyway, Percy told me to let you know that he and Nico were going to Cabin Three. For what, I don't know why."

Annabeth sighed deeply and looked up at the big house. "Summer is just beginning. And the word is it's going to be a hot one."
