Mable gently brushed her great uncles bangs to the side, she did everything she could to help him. His stitches were dressed tightly and cleaned, he'll live but it'll be a while until he wakes up.

Dipper paced back and forth quietly, trying not to wake the sleeping sorcerer who currently resides in Stan's room sleeping. Mable sat on the floor with her sewing kit next to her watching Dipper pace. She still had Stan's blood on her dress and cheek.

"Dipper would you stop that." The eldest twin whispered harshly glaring at her twin.

He stopped turning to her.

"How is he?" He asked, worry etched on his face so identical to his sister.

"He's alive, but very weak." Mable said petting his head gently.

It was silent for awhile, the atmosphere tense.

"Get some sleep sis." Dipper said.

"Why?" She asked, tearing her eyes away from Stan.

"Why did you agree to his offer?" Mable continued looking him in the eyes.

"I-" Dipper stuttered, a lump forming in his throat. 'Why did I take his offer?' He thought.

"It's because I didn't want you to go with him." He said.

"It's because I want you to be safe as much as I can provide."

Dipper walked up to his dearest sister, grabbed her hand and pulled her close kissing on top of her head in comfort.

The brunet pulled back still holding Mables hand, he gently rubbed her knuckles with his thumb, similar to how their mother comforted them so long ago

The brunet pulled back still holding Mables hand, he gently rubbed her knuckles with his thumb, similar to how their mother comforted them so long ago.

"You and grunkle Stan are all have, I will do anything for you, you're my annoying best friend." Dipper said gently.

"There has to be another way." Mable said looking at him.

"We'll think of something tomorrow, I'm sure of it. Now get some sleep." Dipper pulled back as he spoke, standing up he grabbed themselves blankets, handing one to Mable and covering Stan with the other.

Laying on the floor with pillows they grabbed from their rooms Dipper was on his back, listening to the crickets outside. Mable was on her side facing away from Dipper trying to sleep, but couldn't.

"Dipper." Mable called still facing away.

"What?" Dipper asked turning his head towards her.

Mable turn to look at him.

"I'm sorry." She said. "If I hadn't gone out with him then, if I had just said no I..-" Mable wept.
