David Sousa stormed out from the bathroom, he had to take a shower after a long , egregious day at the office , though the shower was refreshingly a good help but only for his body not his mind that was full of lamentable scenes of a mother crying and sobbing hestirecaly over the cadaver of her daughter , he penetrated his way through the door and got back to his room feeling tired and sleepy , still thinking about the mother from this morning, he muttered to himself quietly, "poor women , she wanted to see her daughter even if she lost all of her recognizable features" he moved slowly to his bed and collapsed effortlessly, he felt the adrenaline running through his veiny arms , sound of blood popping and circulating over his body , still could not shake the image from his mind , he stood up and huddled toward his closet and it only took him a couple of minutes to get dressed in his pajamas, though he felt as if his brain was ready to explode due to the pressure he needed something "a glass of scotch perhaps ".

David bent over to pick up his bathrobe from the ground when he suddenly heard a meticulous sounds of footsteps downstairs, he left it there and huddled to the door following his gut , he opened it slowly and stole a quick glance , "the hallway is empty" , he thought while moving forward and scanning the stairs "No one is here , am I being paranoid" , but his blue sharp eyes proved him wrong , his sight is strongly penetrating , he had never missed a target , his teammates nicknamed him The Invincible Eagle after he was able to aim at an armed suspect who fired back at his team from a blindspot , ironically , the scene was glorious.
He descended the stairs without even producing the slightest sound , his body was accumulated and functioned properly in these cases , he ears scanned for any inappropriate sound whereas his eyes gazed slowly without missing a point .

It only took him a second to spot a shadow creeping and fading away toward the kitchen , he did not need his weapon , for , he could defend himself , martial arts always saved him in the field in a face to face battle with a potential monstrous and egregious .

Once he got there , He clinched his jaw waiting for the right moment to slip and surprise the intruder , his back still stuck to the wall , he stared momentarily at the ceiling , this gesture somehow tend to trigger a bottom of readiness within his mind .

He counted backwardly and silently in his mind "three , two , one" and yelled purposely as he stepped to front of the kitchen "get to the gr--". But a sudden silence crushed through him , no more letters dared to escape his mouth , he face blushed spontaneously And at that particular moment David wished he could disappear and vanish for ever , his mouth gaped widely to the scene in front of him , "I did not know , y....you'd be here" his voice filled with befuddlement but he felt relieved and easy , he thanked God under his breath ,for , it was not a dangerous plot after all , he could not deal with anything new , he had a busy and tiring day "can you please forget that you are a cop at home , zit is a bit too much" the intruder declared angrily her tone seemed shaky and frightened , she tried to breath properly again , it was not the first time that she experienced a jump-scare , she got herself up again and staggered slowly toward David "I'm sorry I did not mean to over react to this but you scared me" she chuckled reluctantly and gave him a genuine hug , David then wrapped his hand and straightened her black curly hair , he stepped inches back still holding her shoulders , he looked down at her and said "First of all , I'm not a cop , i'm an FBI agent" he always felt proud of himself saying this words , his voice sounded confident than before and continued while starring at her in wonder "you are growing up so fast darling , look at you" , Anna felt empowered by his words , he always made her feel safe .

"Dad can I ask you a favor , please don't say no" she looked up at him and waited eagerly for an answer ,

"I need to know first , it is all about your safety"

"My mom , is waiting for me outside in her car and---"

"You know me , i would never prevent you from seeing her , if you want to go there is no problem , as long as you keep yourself safe"

"It is not like that--" he suddenly interrupted her " so what then" he sounded more fatherly and a bit harsh this time , she flinched for a second while lowering her gaze in disappointment , "I'm going to a party , and she is here just to pick me up" , a couple of ideas circulated in his clumsy stream of thoughts wether he let her go or not , but he did not want to ruin her bliss , he straightened his posture to sort of purge his mind from flaws , but he was sucked back to reality when his daughter asked while locking her hands to her chest and raising one eyebrow in question "So what do you think DAD" .

"So are you going to sleep here or at your mom's house" her pupils widened reflecting happiness and joy, David always felt happy and blessed when he notice the action , he could tell , he dealt with criminals from all sorts , No one fooled him even a bit , her emotions were real.

It did not take her a second to respond , she sounded enthusiastic "Yes , she will pick me up later" . She then gave him a hug and dropped a kiss on his cheek showing how much she appreciate him.

David stood there at the door of the kitchen watching her rushing toward the door , her black hair dangled mimicking a yo-yo , her body language gave her away , flashbacks hit him while surveying her vanishing and thought "teenage hood shall always be the best" he smiled slightly and climbed up to his room , once there on his bed , he closed his piercing blue eyes and wished he would not be interrupted by a call from the office .
