Beep Beep Beep
I slightly open my eyelids and look to stop the annoying sound. I spot my phone a few inches away on my bedside table and pick it up. 6:45. I jump up to start getting ready for the day. Today was the day of a presentation I had at my school. The presentation was on the Pros and Con's of an economic community. Something I've spent hours perfecting. As tiring as it was, I had to do well in school. Every time I got a semi-bad grade, my mother seemed stressed. I would hear her on the phone at night getting yelled at about it. I don't know who or why this happened so to stay safe I kept my grades up. Remembering the time, I threw on my uniform and brushed my long black hair. I pulled it into a high ponytail and applied some makeup as fast as I could.
When I got downstairs I saw Ms. Henina our chef making breakfast and putting it on the table. Today she had made an omelet with spinach and cheese. She then grabbed a bottle of water with lemons in it and put it by the plate.
"Good Morning Ms. Tamins. I've made your breakfast."
"Good Morning Ms. Henina. Thank you. It looks delicious" I say while walking to the table and sitting down. A few minutes later, my mother, Meline, walks in. She walks over to me and sits. "Good Morning Lucinda." She says while kissing my head. "How did you rest?". "I slept, fine Mom. How did you sleep?" I tell her while starting to eat my breakfast. "I slept fine as well. Have a good day. Love you" With that she leaves the house. I like to think that my mother and I are close, but, there are times where I doubt myself. Right now is one of those times. I finish my breakfast and grab my water bottle. I really love my water bottle. I know it's strange but my bottle has a saying that my mother tells me my dad said before he left. It says "One day, not tomorrow or today. Not this week or next week. But, One day we will meet again. Until then, I'll never forget her. She is my daughter too". I know it's long, but, It's the only thing I have from my father.
I grab my bag and leave the house. The limo driver is already here which isn't surprising. Today I had wished to drive my own car, but, I knew that was too good to be true. As I get into the car I realize I left my phone in my room. I start to panic because my notes for the presentation are on it. I place my bag in the car and get back out again. Running into the house I quickly make my way up to my room. Good. My phone is still by my bed. I pick it up and race back to the car. By this point, I'm all sweaty and out of breath. The moment I close the car door, the driver takes off. I start fixing my hair and makeup that got messed up while I ran. 10 minutes later my hair is back together and I've caught my breath. Perfect timing too, as we start pulling up to the school. I grab my bag and thank the driver. Not really ready to face the day at
