You woke up curled up in your bedsheets on a crisp fall morning, slowly opening your eyes to greet the sun shining through your window. You smile and stretch as you roll over and check your phone, the screen lighting up and your face sinking into a look of disappointment.
10:28 am, Saturday October 7th. .
"Shit" you mumble to yourself. Today was the day you had been dreading for a while now. It was your cousins birthday and no matter how much you protested, your mother was not going to let you miss it. It wasn't so much your family or your cousin Taehyung you weren't looking forward to seeing, you two had actually been quite close growing up despite the fact that Tae was 2 years older than you. It was his best friend, Jungkook, who was poking at the back of your mind. You hadn't seen the scrawny little bunny faced kid for about 5 years now and you'd hoped on keeping it that way, but despite all of your efforts, you'd have to face him again today. He used to tease you and bully you all the time, staring at you constantly, poking you, getting on your nerves, stealing your toys as kids, and following you everywhere. He was your age, younger than tae, so obviously more immature, but he always took it to a whole other level. It was so irritating that you eventually just stopped hanging out with your cousin altogether, but you knew that missing another one of his birthdays would hurt him and you couldn't do that. Besides, the whole family had come in from all over the country and you knew you had to at least make an appearance.
"Y/N, I hope you're up," your mother called through your door, "The party starts at 12 and were not going to be late." You groaned and put your phone back down as you reluctantly pulled your cozy sheets off of you and rolled out of bed.
"Yeah I know I'm getting ready now."
You made your way into the bathroom and brushed your teeth, washed your face, and did your everyday subtle makeup routine. You then went into your closet to pick out an outfit, knowing it was a brunch with the whole family that would turn into a more casual party in the evening, you decided on a comfy grey sweater with a black dress over top with thigh high stockings and black boot heels.

You gave yourself a onceover in the mirror before hearing your mom yelling for you again and heading out the door to meet the rest of your family downstairs.
You and your older brother, Yoongi, sat in the backseat sulking as your parents went on and on about proper etiquette and behaving ourselves at this family event. I was miserable because of jungkook, and Yoongi was equally unimpressed because he was somewhere other than his bed or his boyfriend Jimin's house. You and Yoongi gave each other a look of disgust and started laughing to yourselves. Even though he wasn't the talkative type, you two were close as you shared the same interests in fashion, music, and boys.
When you finally arrived and hopped out of the car, Yoongi turned to you,
"Hey, that dumb kid gives you attitude again and we can ditch okay? Jimin lives just down the road we can sneak off and chill at his place." You smiled to your brother,
