~Ciel's POV~
Sebastian and Willow met me in the alleyway after a short while. Willow looked unsettled about something and Sebastian was lost in thought. Did something happen in the pub?
"Well, what did you find out?" I asked curiously as Willow fidgeted with her hair and after a few minutes had loosened it from its hold and set it free spilling down her delicate shoulders in ebony waves.
"He's in there." Sebastian indicated the pub they'd just exited. "Now we wait." He paused as he looked over at Willow who was now shaking out her hair trying to get it to fall back into place how she normally wore it, wild and completely untamed. "What a waste." He sighed receiving a piercing glare from the mute girl.
"Are you uncomfortable?" I asked her as she began fidgeting with her clothing next.
She shrugged her shoulders in response as she began unbuttoning her white ruffle blouse.
"What in god's name are you doing?!" I panicked as she began to undress.
She rolled her fey eyes in response and slipped out of the ruffled white blouse leaving her standing in nothing more than a tight fitted blood red corset that hugged her curves in sinful ways. Once she was satisfied with the top half of her attire she reached down and tore a slit in her ankle length skirt all the way to about her mid thigh.
Sebastian looked thoughtful once more, "I think she's modifying her outfit to make it easier to move in the event of a fight."
Willow nodded and indicated the pub as a young man with long pale icy blonde hair pulled back in an old fashioned ponytail stepped out of the pub with two intoxicated women on his arms.
"There's our target." Sebastian noted.
Sebastian leapt atop a nearby building for an aerial view of the alleyway as Willow and I hid in the shadows to await our target.
The man with the icy blonde hair drew nearer with the two stumbling women latched to his arms. As he got closer I was steadily able to make out his features better. His eyes were the color of cold hard steel with flecks of bronze that appeared to glow in the dying fire of the street lanterns. He had sharp facial features and everything about him screamed predator.
He and the stumbling women lurched past where Willow and I were hiding. Willow tensed beside me and for a moment I thought I saw the man's eyes flit in our direction. They continued past us without hesitation and after he felt he was deep enough in the alleyway he shoved his two victims forcefully toward a brick building as his nails turned to claws.
"SEBASTIAN NOW!" I called as I jumped out of the shadows with Willow in toe.
The man swiveled around with a smirk looking beyond me to the mute girl in my wake, "I've been looking for you."
It was a set up?
Sebastian leapt from his perch to intercept the man as he slowly advanced on us. The two inebriated women let out high pitched shrieks and lunged at my demon butler as their skin turned grey and their nails grew to wicked black claws.
"I don't have any use for a snobby brat or his demon butler." The man chuckled as I watched his minions in horror as they turned into gruesome she-devils with untamed flaming red hair, glowing red eyes with black veins around the sockets and grotesque looking mottled scaled wings stretching from their backs.
Sebastian seemed to be struggling to hold off the two she-devils as the man calmly stalked toward me. Willow caught my wrist in her hand as the man was about to lunge and quickly shoved me behind her. She darted forward becoming almost a blur as she met him head on.
The man looked caught off guard by her sudden attack. She moved so fast even he seemed thrown off. "Did I strike a nerve?" The man chuckled as he dodged her fist. "Have I been causing trouble for that mortician you're so fond of?" He goaded.
Undertaker? It made sense, with all the murders people were blaming Willow and it was certainly putting a strain on Undertaker's work.
Willow completely vanished from view for a full second and in the next instant the man with the icy blonde hair was thrown into a nearby building.
The man stared at her in awe for a moment before laughing dryly, "I underestimated you, join me, they'll just hold you back and keep you from reaching your true potential." He smirked as he stalked toward Willow with a hungry gleam in his glowing steely grey eyes.
Sebastian was still struggling with the vicious she-devils who appeared to have the upper hand in the battle.
"These people will make you weak." The man continued and for a moment I worried Willow would accept his offer. "I can help you." He extended a clawed hand to her.
Willow stood her ground and shook her head simply in response causing the man to glare.
"Do you know what you're refusing?" He snarled at her. "Don't get overconfident just because I let you land a hit!"
Willow vanished from sight once more and I saw a puddle nearby ripple as if something had been snatched out of it quickly and in the next instant the man was yowling in pain. She reappeared moving at a normal pace with a bloody piece of glass clutched in the palm of her hand. The icy blonde man's shirt was stained with blood from several punctures to his torso. When had she moved?!
"You'll change your mind soon enough." The man hissed before disappearing in a puff of black smoke.
His minions vanished with simultaneous shrieks.
Willow looked lost in a trance as she stared down at her bloody hand still clinging desperately to the glass shard she'd hastily scraped up. Sebastian threw her a worried glance and took a cautious step toward her.
"Are you alright?" He asked her calmly as he reached out to her.
She jerked away from his touch and nearly stumbled to the ground but caught herself before any injury could befall her. Her fey eyes lingered once more to the blood dripping from her hand and she slowly eased her grip on the glass shard letting it fall to the cobblestone alleyway with a loud 'clink'.
"I think we should head back to the city estate for now." I sighed.
Willow shook her head.
"Do you want to stay here?" I asked her skeptically.
She shook her head once more.
"Do you want to go back to Undertaker's?" I asked her curiously.
Tears welled in her fey eyes and she nodded her head vigorously.
"Very well, we may need some more help with this fellow. Perhaps he'll have some information for us." I shrugged.
Willow immediately headed off in the direction of Undertaker's shop.
I sighed and jogged after her to keep up with her determined stride. Something about her encounter with the wraith unsettled her. Was she worried about the mortician? After what he'd done in that prison, I didn't think he'd need anyone to look out for him, he seemed capable enough.
