-AJMy name is Krystal and this is my backstory.
When my mom was 12 she met a dragon. Later in her life, she met him again but only he looked like a human. That dragon is my dad. My mom thought he was good. Sadly he wasn't and he left to follow his evil path. I've never met him. All I know is that he left me with quite the problem to handle. I'm a halfbreed. Part Human, part Dragon.
I was eight when I first turned into a dragon, it scared the hell out of my mom. Luckily I wasn't at school when it happened. My mom knew I was half dragon from when I was about one year old. You see, as a halfbreed, I also have a form where I'm human, but I have all the abilities and strengths as I would as a dragon. The first time I transformed into that was what let my mom know I wasn't completely human.
When I turned 12 my mom threw me a party with balloons and cake and people, lots of people. We had the pool set up out back, it wasn't big but people enjoyed it. I, as the birthday girl, ended up getting thrown in the pool by a couple teenage boys. They said that because it was my birthday I should be the first in, and they said it would be fun. Now that I look back, it was. I didn't think so then. I ended up getting really mad and turned into a dragon. Everyone freaked out and when my mom came out to see what had happened she freaked out and had a heart attack. She, sadly, didn't make it.
After that, I moved in with my grandparents. They lived in Northern California, up by the border of Oregon. My mother had told them about me, of course. Luckily they lived a bit separated from everyone else. The town is called Oakshore (Note from author: this is not the real Oakshore, we made it up. -AJ). I wouldn't be surprised if you've never heard of it.
I've stayed with my grandparents since. I haven't had any parties with lots of people, only my grandparents. I was homeschooled for awhile because Gran and Gramp were worried about me. I even didn't go to my freshman year.
I have no friends in Oakshore even though I've lived there for three years. I'm about to start my sophomore year as a 15-year-old and I begged my grandparents to let me attend the high school. Lucky for me they said yes.
In less than a month I will start at Oakshore High as the "new kid". I've seen the TV shows about new kids who get picked on, and its super hard to make friends. Hopefully, I'll have better luck than them. This is a reality after all.
