chapter 3

~third person POV~

"Thank you for walking me home, Shisui-san." Kumiko smiled at the curly haired Uchiha before taking Naruto from his back. He had somehow convinced her to let him carry the blonde. "And for carrying Naruto-kun."

"I'll see you tomorrow." He told her before placing a swift kiss on her forehead and leaving quickly.

Kumiko stood there stunned before reminding herself that she still had to treat Naruto's wounds.

Sliding the door of the house open, Kumiko walked in and reached the kitchen where her parents were talking at the table.

"Tadaima." Kumiko spoke making them look up.

"Okaeri." Mikoto replied with a smile before she noticed the injured blonde. When she did, she instantly rose and hurried over to her daughter while Fugaku strolled over to the cabinet and pulled out the first aid kit. "What happened?"

"He was attacked by the villagers." Kumiko explained with a frown as she gently set Naruto on the couch. Mikoto pressed her hand against his forehead while the younger Uchiha took the first aid kit her father left on the table before opening it and grabbing some ointments.

Mikoto helped her disinfect the wounds before she put the pink ointment on which helped them shut. After they finished, Kumiko gently lifted the boy up and went to put him to bed. Carefully setting him down, she removed his sandals before pulling the covers over him and kissing his forehead.

"Goodnight, Naruto-kun." She whispered softly, lightly brushing his hair from his face before she silently walked out of the room and closed the door behind her.

'Poor kid.' She thought as she walked to her room. 'No one should have to suffer through that.'

After taking a relaxing shower, Kumiko laid down on her bed and closed her eyes before slowly drifting off.
