"I heard he's a trainee now too. Going to debut under a new name. I'm excited. Their group is going to be so cool!"
Seokjin looks up from his playwright to give his dongsaeng a droll stare as he continues to ramble on. His dongsaeng, Taehyung, was a fan of hip hop. For him, however, just listening to popular artists wasn't enough. Taehyung was one of the few people who listened to underground rappers and often found himself going to small venues to check them out. Over the years, Taehyung had developed a favorite and wouldn't stop talking about him day in and day out. Runch-something.
"Did you know?" Taehyung continues excitedly, "Runch Randa's company? It's the same company that Yoongi-hyung is at!"
Seokjin cocks a brow. "Really?" he asks. "Min Yoongi?"
Taehyung beams and nods so fast Seokjin thinks he's gonna give himself whiplash. "The one and only."
Yoongi, a friend of Taehyung's from Daegu, was the one who got Taehyung into underground hip-hop to begin with. Taehyung looks up to him in a way. Seokjin has met him a few times before, he's stayed at their apartment for a few days when he first came to Seoul, looking to rap. He was nice, hardly talked, but Seokjin likes him regardless.
"Interesting," is all Seokjin answers as he returns to his script. Taehyung returns to mumbling under his breath. Out of the corner of his eye, he sees the stylist-noona frowning as she attempts to dab some concealer on Tae as he bounces in his seat.
Seokjin sighs. "Tae," he says in a firm voice. "Let the stylist do her job."
"Ah, sorry," the younger boy apologizes, instantly stilling. The stylist shoots Jin a grateful look before getting to work. Even still as a statue though, Tae continues to mumble under his breath. "From Seoul to Gangwon, Kyeongsangdo. Chungcheong to Jeolla. What is he saying? What?!"
'What?' indeed. Although he enjoyed hip hop himself from time to time, there were some things that he didn't get when it came to the lyrics. Especially when Taehyung made an attempt to rap.
Luckily for him, Seokjin only had to put up with Tae's 'rapping' for about another 20 minutes before their manager walks in, indicating it was time for the shoot to begin.
Seokjin and Taehyung are actors, both having acted since they were kids in small roles. Seokjin has done long episode soap operas, while Taehyung had always been sent to smaller 16 episode dramas because he was younger. However, their visuals had the company constantly sending them to shoot for ads. They focused on school uniforms, school supplies, vitamin supplements, phone plans, etc.
Unfortunately for them, this meant they had a very packed schedule.
Their company almost never said no to a job offer. Every day consisted of photoshoots, commercials, interviews. It was tiring as hell. Tae had a lot of energy but Seokjin is constantly tired, fatigued. Today he even felt a headache coming on. Yet he knew that none of that mattered to his company. He and Tae just needed to work their butt offs to reel more clients in.
Today's shoot was for a clothing line. Again, a brand for school uniforms. It was their most popular gig. It went well with the 'flower boy' concept the company had going for them.
Both boys walk into the room and greet today's staff, bowing politely to each one in the room before heading to their spot in front of the camera. The photographer snaps away while they pose, all close and full of smiles.
They changed several times for various outfits, changed locations twice for a change in mood, and even moved on to individual shoots. Once they were done, they bowed once more to the staff, thanking them for their hard work and walked out to change.
