Thus, night classes. I sat comfortably in my seat. Taeyong arrived late again. I guess he is in no hurry to get to class. Shocker.

We greeted each other. Class went on and we made witty remarks throughout the lesson. He wasn't as bad as I thought he'd be. What a relief.

Class ended and we were on our way home: Taeyong and I.

Me: I can't help but notice you don't hang out with anyone during the day. Why is that? No friends? Kinda sad.

I laugh. Taeyong smiles.

Taeyong: I could make friends if I wanted to. I just choose not to. You're an exception.

Me: What's so special about me that I'm your ONLY friend?

I laugh again.

Taeyong: The reason we happened to become friends is purely coincidence. You give youself too much credit. I'm just trying to be a nice guy.

Me: Ah, I see. I've been thinking. How about you join my friend group? I'm sure you've seen the 2 girls and guy I spend time with. They're good people.

Taeyong: I'm not sure. I'm fine by myself.

Me: Oh please. I'll propose a deal. You go to the mall with us this weekend at 3 and see how you like everyone. If you enjoy your time, sit with us at lunch, at least.

Taeyong: I have plans this weekend.

My heart sank. I was looking forward to see what kind of person he was out of school.

Taeyong: BUT, I can free up time. I'll take your deal Yoonae. It's time I live up school life before we graduate.

Me: That's great! I'd prefer we don't bring up graduation though. I might start sobbing at the thought of being an adult.

Taeyong chuckled.

Taeyong: You're right.
Is this your place?

Me: Oh yeah, it is. See ya,,,at the mall too. And if you're late like with class, I'll push you down the escalator.

Taeyong: Damn. I'll be early.
