"Please don't go." He gripped the side of the wooden box, staring down into its contents. "I want you to stay." Everyone else had already gone. He wanted to be the last one to have a chance to talk to him. Tears fell from his eyes dampening the perfectly white flowers. He couldn't say goodbye. He had avoided it for the last several days, he didn't want to give in now.

"You know, I think they're right. We're just two stupid people who are a waste of space."

"Hey, don't talk like that. What made you think that all of a sudden anyways?"

His mind was stuck back on the day that the redhead walked out his door for the last time. Was there something different he should've said? They were happy. They were together. Even if no one else understood them the way they understood each other.

"...I'm just tired of no one respecting me. No one seeing me as human..."

"You are human. One of the best, in my opinion."

"I still remember the last conversation we had. You were so angry with those guys. Why didn't you stay angry?" Everyone around them saw them as simple, childish, unimportant people. There wasn't a day gone by that someone didn't try to make them shape up. "You were the one who always hoped and kept believing!" He dug his fingers into the wood, shaking the side of the box as he yelled, "So why am I the one standing here?!"

"It's just... this is a big world to be so alone in."

"Shut up. I'm always here for you. Don't keep forgetting that."

He scrunched his shoulders together. His head fell forward as he lost the will to hold it up. "I don't care if you don't have to deal with this world anymore. You should've realized how much bigger and emptier it would be for me if you left it."

"Sorry. I know I still have you, and you'll always have me."

"Good. You're my world. There's no point otherwise."

"Yeah... there isn't..."

"Why did you have to smile like that? You made me think that everything was fine. That it would be okay to let you walk out my door. That if you left... you would come back." He stood up straight, letting go of the side of the box. He brought up his hand that was holding a blue rose. It was a little smooshed from being pressed up against the box. He tried to fix it before breaking off the stem. He took the flower, setting it in the box where there were no flowers, only black fabric of the uniform.

"It really all makes sense now... it's clear to me."

"What is?"

"Nothing really matters."

"It does to me. Wherever you go. I'll follow you there."

[AN: I got the idea for this while reading this sad KagaKuro doujinshi and I thought of this song and then the rest was a wash in tears...😭😭😭]
