I opened my eyes with a little effort and saw the dusty ceiling above me. I could not recognise where I was. No familiar sounds and scents. My head buzzed with exhaustion and I couldn't move a bit.
"Hey,you are awake!Jesus".
I rolled my eyes in the direction of the sound. I saw a lady approach me. She took my hand in hers.
"Don't be afraid. You're are safe here".
She patted my arms and soothed my hair. Her long, slender fingers enveloped mine smoothly. I noticed that her eyes were sparkling with kindness.
"Oh! Its okay. I will explain everything you need to know " .
She said in a tone as low as a whisper, noticing the confused look on my face.
I made an effort to move. But the my body pain was engulfing me wholly.
" I know child". She continued patting my arms."your body may be aching. Doctor told is to make you drink a plenty of water. It will take time to build your body back."
I attempted to get up taking my full strength. But failed. I laid back gasping. She saw it and called out for someone,"Jake ,come here " .
I moved my head left and saw a youngster approaching. His straight ,wavy hair flew intermittently as he took swift step towards us. His eyes fell on me and lit up with surprise.
"Oh God! She is awake!! Welcome back ,sunshine."
His words shook me with more confusion. Who are these people?? I had no idea where I was or what had happened to me...and...who..I was.
The lady beckoned Jake to help me get up .Both of them caught my shoulders from either side. Jake put the pillow straight in my back .And finally I was able to sit on my bed.
Only now i was able to see everything. The lady was so pretty with brick red cheeks. She might be in her thirties..I guessed. She was thin and tall. Her skin tone white.
"So hey,"Jake called me , distracting my observations. I saw him seated beside me ,smiling.
"Are you okay?" He asked me
"Come on Jake "The lady called from the other side "she is just recovering.It will be alright in a day or two. Isn't it dear?"
She patted my arms again. Her soothing touch gave a little satisfaction to me.
Jake giggled on the other side. I could not help myself without noticing his bluish eyes more vibrantly than any of his features.
Firstly, it was necessary for me to end up this state of confusion. One million questions in my mind required answers. I need to find out how my destiny brought me here...
I decided to test whether my voice still existed or not.
"Where..... am .....i..?"
Thank god it existed... But I was taken aback by its grumbling hoarseness . I decided to make it better.
"Who are you??"...
