I met you in the dark, you lit me up

You made me feel as though I was enough

We danced the night away, we drank too much

I held your hair back when

You were throwing up

------------------------------------------

Parties were always fun, especially when there's free booze. Of course, Bokuto wasn't going for that reason. It was his best bro's birthday!

It was the night of November 17th. Kuroo insisted on having a party, much to his roommate, Kenma's, dismay. What better way to spend your birthday then getting blackout drunk with all of your best mates? A lot of people were going, since Kuroo had kept in touch with friends in high school, and had become quite popular in college. The party was almost a reunion at this point.

Bokuto was of course over the moon to be attending Kurbro's party, but there was one guest in particular that he was anxious to see...

Akaashi Keiji. Most would have thought that the two would have kept in touch somehow. However, since they both ended up living far from each other, that didn't work out. They just lost touch completely into Bokuto's third year, when Akaashi started his second year of college.

It was sad, yes, but now Bokuto had a second chance! At what? He doesn't know. All he knows is that he wants to be close to Akaashi again. He was completely head over heals for the boy, but he's be okay with just being friends if it meant Akaashi was in his life again.

The boy exited his modern apartment, walking the few blocks until he got to Kuroo's. He could tell that everything was already in full swing, the music could be heard from outside.

Opening the door and letting himself in, he was met with a dark house, illuminated by flashing lights. If he didn't know any better, he'd say he accidentally walked into a frat party or a rave. With a beaming smile, he entered the house, closing the door behind him. Kuroo was no where to be found at the moment, but that was infe, he was on a mission.

Bokuto scanned the place, walking around the edge of the room to see if he could spot the familiar black hair or blue eyes of his former setter. Alas, it seemed impossible for Bokuto to find him at this point.

Bokuto was giving up, his shoulders sinking as his lips formed a pout on his face. His mood was drastically dropping. Why did he even get his hopes up-

Huh? Bokuto was snapped out of his thoughts when he felt a gentle hand on his back. Whipping around, his whole world brightened as he saw the beautiful male standing before him. "Akaashi!"

Well, that's one way to start off the conversation. Akaashi did something that Bokuto hadn't exepected. He laughed, really hard at that. This gave Bokuto the oppertunity to look over the boy.

Akaashi seemed to get more attractive as he aged. He noted how Keiji's eyes crinkled as he laughed. The flush on his cheeks indicated he had already been here for a bit, getting a good head start on the drinking.

"I can't believe I'm saying this, but I really missed that, Bokuto-san."

That was just the start of an unbelievably amazing night for Bokuto. They had both got beyond wasted, Akaashi a bit more than Bokuto. Bokuto at least wanted to remember this night. The evening was filled with dancing and talking to their heart's content. If it was possible, Bokuto would say he had fallen even deeper for the ravenette.

As the party died down, both had said their goodbye's to the hosts and left. They had ended up sharing a taxi back to Akaashi's apartment, not wanting the conversation to end.

"Kuroo was laughing so hard milk came out of his nose!" Bokuto exclaimed, recalling stories to catch Akaashi up on the years he had missed out on.

Akaashi smiled, a hint of sadness in his eyes. "I wish I hadn't moved away. It sounds like you had a great few years though." Without me... Akaashi decided to leave out.

"It was great and all, but it would have been ten- no a thousand times better if you were there." He replied. Something about this moment just felt different from any other moment he's had with the setter.

They had been sitting next to each other, both now facing one another. Maybe it was the alcohol making them sway, but it almost seemed as though they were leaning closer...

Until Akaashi got up and ran to the bathroom.

As any caring human would be, Bokuto was instantly worried once he heard retching. Akaashi had just made it to the toilet in time before all the alcohol started coming up. He definitely had too much.

Bokuto stood near the other, making sure he was okay through it all. He ignored the smell, more concerned with making the ex-setter as comfortable as possible, rubbing calming circles on his back.

To be continued in the next chapter, it gets better I promise.
