Then you smiled over your shoulder
For a minute, I was stone-cold sober
I pulled you closer to my chest
And you asked me to stay over
I said, I already told ya
I think that you should get some rest

After all that excitement, Bokuto and Akaashi settled back onto the couch. Akaashi obviously felt bad, as anyone would after getting sick with company over. Maybe he should have gone a little easier on the drink, though he couldn't really rewind time.
Leaning against the former ace, Akaashi turned to glance at him over his shoulder. "I really am sorry about that Bokuto-san."
Bokuto would have responded, had it not been for Akaashi lazily smiling in apology. Akaashi's smile was always sobering, but never in a bad way. Bokuto's cheeks heated up, wrapping an arm around the male's shoulders to pull him closer. Tongue tied, Bokuto let the gesture speak for itself.
But damn, that smile. He's seen it quite a few times before back in high school. He's certainly forgotten the impact of just one little smile. He was convinced that even the simplest of smiles would be enough to make him fall deeper in love with the boy every time.
They had simple conversation afterward, going over each other's schedules for the next few weeks since Bokuto insisted on them seeing each other again. It wasn't like Akaashi needed much convincing though.
As minutes turned to hours, the conversation between them never lulled. Late night turned into early morning, and though none of them wanted to admit it, they both knew Bokuto had to go home soon. Entangled in each others arms, both had started to tire. Through half lidded eyes, Akaashi looked up at Bokuto, their faces only centimeters apart. "Stay?"
Damn, he really wanted to say yes. It wasn't helping that he could practically feel Akaashi's breath against his lips. He could get drunk on this feeling alone. "It's late, we should both sleep."
A lingering moment passed before they both started shifting to get up. Akaashi would walk Bokuto to the door, both prolonging the goodbye.
As the door shut, Bokuto sighed dreamily, walking down the building's hallway. He did, however, stop and turn when he heard the sound of the door open again. Before he could realize what was happening, intoxicatingly soft lips pressed against his own. They were gone as soon as they arrived with the soft click of the door.
Needless to say, Bokuto went home with the goofiest smile on his face.

To be continued in the next chapter. (The next chapter is longer I promise, I just didn't have a lot to say for this chapter.)
