Chapter 16: I'm Your Fiancee Remember?

Eren's POV:

I took Riva-chan to a place I liked. A place far from stress when I was just a little boy training to be a hunter. A place where I find peace and serenity. Calming and the cool breeze that soothes my soul. It was a cliff near the ocean. West side of the Ashton forest, you will find a beautiful cliff that stretches 15 feet high. Down the cliff lies a sand beach; where the sand was as white as the sands of 'Boracay' (One of the famous beach of the Philippines. Tehee! Back to story)

We sat down on the grassy field of the cliff just a little bit near the edge. We watched the sun that was already retreating to the other side of the world. Mixes of red, violet, orange, and blue hues are scattered in the sky like an abstract painting. The sight was breath taking that I nearly forgot about Riva-chan. "Hahaha.... Your quite funny. I can read your thoughts remember?" he chuckled. I blushed a deep crimson red at his obvious question. "Eh-eh-ahm....I-I'm sorry Riva-chan." I was lost for words that all I could ever think of is apologizing to him. "Is it beautiful? Of how the vermilion sun comes out and comes back. Did you know we twins have also had our part in making the sun vanished and reappear again?" he paused briefly and smiled, though he was looking faraway. Staring beyond where the sun meets the horizon. I gaze at his face. Contemplating of what to say at his statements. Then he started again with a sad yet mellow voice. "Our existence only exists for the sole purpose of balance in this world. Losing one means great chaos. Although there is the chief god who administer everything in the heavenly domain. We twins are said to be special. Erwin often says it's because when he created the world he find it hard to balance things and it always brings chaos. Then everything starts to crumble down again and again because of the unbalance of the world he makes. So he decided to create us,......" Riva-chan looked at me solemnly. His golden eyes flickered with sadness that it is very moving to see.

I looked away as I felt a cold substances slip my cheeks. I touched my face, unknowingly I was crying. "..........At first we were just foxes who chased after that big ball of fire. Small kitsunes that didn't know what purpose or don't know what to think. It's not long that our tails started to grow. We slowly attained rational thinking and started to wonder why are we doing it? Until the darkness got the curiosity win over him. Do you know what happens next?" he said still not looking at me. I took the chance to look at him once more. His golden eyes were glistening with sorrow of the past.

"....and alas, the world fell into chaos when he went to Earth. He wandered around and everything he touches dies. Soon the chief god uses all of his power to establish the balance once more. By doing so he fell sick. He need to somehow pass this to avoid falling asleep. Gods don't die they fall asleep or reincarnate into someone else again. In that way his/her powers will regenerate. He accidentally made other gods in the process too, by giving some of his excess powers to the newborn humans. That was the first generation of gods, with different nature of powers. When the time the darkness went up to the heavenly domain it was too late. All the damage had done and he was restrained back to the pits of hell. Chained like a beast. All the loneliness, all the torture.... Tormented the poor soul. Erwin then gave me the forgiveness I long earned. He decided that instead of chasing the sun he let us use our powers to administer the balance of light and darkness. Meaning he gave as our warrant of freedom." he sighed. Hesitant of wether to continue or not. "It's okay Riva-chan. If you don't want to continue it's fine. Don't exert it. Live it up to the fullest and enjoy every moment right? Yikes... Although it is a saying meant for us mortals hehehehehe...." I mumbled. Scratching the back of my neck for how stupid I sounded.

"You are right Eren. We need to live it to the fullest. He still had the upper hand and control over us although he gave as the title of a god. It was just so that we can see the nature of the world he created. As far as I had seen it this life I'm currently in. It was disgusting. How those humans deemed to destroy their own kind. Wars. Racism. Greed. It was horrible. But you know what? Ever since I thought that you guys are all evil I saw some goodness in some of them; including you." he smiled. Then he stood up patting his lap and behind to brush off the dirt. "You know it's getting late you should head home now. I'll take you home then."

He made a snapping sound and in an instant he showed his fox form once again. He looks just like his twin. To well toned body from their looks and how gorgeous they really are. It was just funny that their hair, tail, and eye color are reciprocal of each other. His blonde hair swaying along with the swish of the air. His cream toned tails are swaying happily too. It reminded me of the vanilla ice cream cone I always had that had a chocolate dip on top of it. I inwardly chuckled.

"Playing tricks with my tails aren't we Eren? Your a naughty boy too huh. Would you be so kind to show me what is a vanilla ice cream cone that had a chocolate dip on top of it. Is it delicious? I will let you pass this time because of the compliment." He said with a snort."You bet it is." I agreed to his question.

We were like goofballs smiling and laughing at each other. It was one of my first. Laughing and smiling like there was no tomorrow. He snapped again and I was at the front of my house once again, with my bike in my garage. I smiled softly. "Thank you." I muttered.

I opened the door and was surprised. "Hi Eren. I'm back from the underworld of course. How is my beloved fiancee doing?" Came out a cheery brunette. A tall mid age woman stood in my doorway. Her brunette hair wrapped in a black weird ponytail. Large round glasses hang in the bridge of her nose loosely. Then she fixed her glasses so that her hazel cat like eyes can see clearly. "Fi-fi-fiancee!!!!???" I yelled loudly. Hopefully I don't have a neighbor so no one would shout back how noisy I am. "Hai!!! I'm your fiance remember?" she smiled sweetly. I shivered with an unknown feeling. "....and your coming with me. Let's go now before some pesky gods interfere." she said. She grip her hand on my arm and with a flash everything went black.
