"And so there's this boy, And the way he laughs makes me smile, And the way he talks gives me butterflies, And everything about him makes me smile."

After thirty minutes of quiet arguing, Jaimie-mae reluctantly took the bed while Fabian took the floor. He had spread out a bunch of blankets and said it was no problem. If he survived getting hit by a car, he'd survive sleeping on the floor for one night.

Jaimie-mae tossed and turned in the bed.

Fabian's bed

There was still a mild rumbling of thunder and rain in the background that usually would have lulled her to sleep, but for some reason, that night, it didn't.

Her hand hung limply over the side of the bed and she suddenly felt Fabian's hand encase hers. She blushed into the pillows but held on just as tight as he was. Eventually, she felt herself drifting off.

Jaimie-mae would suddenly snap awake and look around. She handn't realized it at the time, but because Fabian had fallen asleep and she had too, his hand would drop from hers and it would cause her to snap awake.

Eventually, Fabian heard Jaimie-mae ruffling around in the bed, so he got up and lifted her over, then scooted in beside her. He put a pillow between them but they each threw their hands over the pillows so that they still had some sort of contact.

Fabian chuckled to himself when he noticed Jaimie-mae throw half her body over the pillow barrier he had made, but he didn't mind. It was only there so that he didn't kick her through the night.

He wasn't a horrible sleeper, but he wanted to be better safe than sorry.

Fabian woke to the sun shining through the curtains he had left open last night. He looked over and laughed quietly at Jaimie-mae whos head was buried into the pillows, most likely sheilding the light out.

She looked so adorable to him all curled up. In his bed.

His eyes trailed further down. They went from her neck, to her waist that was slightly exposed because her shirt rose up a little during her sleep.

The rest of her was covered by blankets, which he was slightly dissapointed about, but nothing major.

He did another once over and he almost choked on his spit. He cringed at his morning breath as his eyes widened.

He neared her side of the bed and panicked immediately when his thoughts were comfirmed.

There on his sheets were spots of...

Blood?

He quickly shook Jaimie-mae awake. She groaned quietly in protest but turned over anyway to face him. She squinted at him through the sun.

"Morni-" she stopped when she saw the look on his face. "What's wrong Fabian?"

His eyes widened and he got up on his knees. He shakily pulled her up against him and almost fell backwards off the bed when he saw the blood across her pants.

"Oh my- holy shoot. Shoot. Shoot. Are you okay Jaimie-mae? Should i call 911?"

Jaimie-mae began to panic along with him. "Whats wrong!?"

"What do you mean what's wrong!? The girl i care about is bleeding to death!"

Jaimie-mae's eyes widened as she scanned the bed and then her pants. She blushed a deep red and cringed at herself. "I am so sorry!"

"I should have known," she mumbled to herself.

"What, that you were gonna die soon? Yeah, a heads up would have been nice. I can't lose you!"

He looked genuinely scared and Jaimie-mae chuckled at him. "Fabian i'm not gonna die. It's my-"

"Ohh." He laughed loudly at himself. "I know. Man, i'm so dumb sometimes. It's your period right?"

She blushed and looked away. "Yeah. Sorry i didn't mean t-"

"It's cool. Are you okay though? Should i get you anything?" He tried to meet her eyes but she wouldn't look at him. "Hold on, be right back."

He dashed out of his room and then came back not too long later with a pile of stuff in his hands. He threw it onto the bed than went and rummaged through his drawers and pulled out some clothes.

"Okay. I went and asked my mom for stuff and that's what she gave me." He pointed to the stuff he had previously thrown onto the bed. "You can go and shower and then change into some of my clothes afterwards. The pants don't fit me anymore and they're drawstring so they should be comfortable enough."

Jaimie-mae grinned at him and jumped up from the bed. She picked up all of the stuff and quickly stood up on her tip-toes to peck his cheek. She missed his cheek because of how short she was and ended up kissing right below his jaw. Fabian tried to hide the slight shiver that sped through his body when her lips touched his skin.

As she sprinted out the room, she shouted "Your the best!"

Fabian stood smiling like a fool at the foot of his bed.

He'd do that a hundred times over if he got the same reaction every time.

Fabian chuckled as Jaimie-mae fidgeted excitedly in the booth of the café. She was wearing his joggers that were now to small for him and a t-shirt that she had tied in a knot at the bottom. He could hardly keep himself from looking at her the whole time. He thought she looked so fine in his clothes, no matter how cliché that sounded. He tried his best to be as subtle as possible when he gazed at her.

Fabian knew that his dad had meant well when he said not to get involved with Jaimie-mae, but to him it was all a bunch of bull crap. She made him happy and if he dared even think it, he made her feel the same. In a way, they were both helping each other. He didn't care now that he was going behind his dad's back; this was for a good cause.

Jaimie-mae was excited because he had brought her to the café and said he wanted to spoil her. At first she blushed like crazy and denied his offers, but when he started listing off what she could get, she was immediately pulled in.

So here they were, together, sipping on cold frappucino's with extra whipped cream and eating croissants during cold weather.

They joked around and shoved each other. They laughed and smiled. They talked about anything and everything.

You know, just the simple things.

But for some reason, that day, was one of the best they'd both had in a long time.
