Cass stood in the middle of a circle of soldiers. They each had on light armor and a regular iron sword. Cass wore leather armor and a black cloak. In her hand was a sword just like the other soldiers but it was longer in length and slightly heavier. She heard footsteps to her left and she opened her eyes and quickly turned and blocked an attack from one of the soldiers. She countered an attack and kicked him down then turned and grabbed the wrist of a charging soldier and threw him over her shoulder, only for him to land on his companion. She heard footsteps to her right and she quickly stepped to the side, missing a slash from a soldier. She grabbed his back and kneed his stomach then sent to him the ground. She used her sword to block a stabbing move and knocked the next soldier to the ground.

Once all the soldiers were on the ground and cass was panting, she called their training session over. The soldiers simultaneously stood up and groaned in pain. Cass congratulated them and they all nodded and walked back into the garrison. She sighed then sheathed her sword and walked into the castle. The guards greeted her but she ignored them and the servants who tried to treat her. Cass brushed them off and climbed the grand staircase. She silently walked down the cold hallways till she reached her room. Two guards stood in position at the door and opened it for her. Cass quietly walked in, nodding a thank you to the two soldiers before they closed the doors.

Cass slippe her cloak off of her shoulders and hung it on chair which was probably not very royal like for her but she didn't care. She was too tired. Cass was at the ripe age of 15. Her 16th birthday was coming up but she didn't care much for it. Her mother had died in childbirth to cass. After the death her father tried to care for her the best he could but soon gave up once she turn one. He handed her off to the servants who then raised her from then on. But the general of the arm, skorri, wouldn't stand for it. He semi-adopted cass and took her under his wing.

Cass had learned to sword fight from skorri. He taught her to counter, to use offence, and to use her height and weight to an advantage. But not only that, he was supportive to her. When cass had fallen and bruised a knee with tears in her eyes, he quickly wiped them away and with a gentle voice, he told her to shake it off and stand back up. He handed her the stick she was training with and she continued to fight the dummy in front of her.

Cass smiled to herself but was brought out of the day dream once there was a knocking on her door. She groaned to herself. She only wanted to be alone after a whole morning and afternoon of training. She looked over her shoulder at the door with a glare. "What?" she barked. The door opened and a man stepped in. "i honestly thought you would react better to me." he said. Cass lifted her head and turned around to see skorri standing there, he had on his armor and was smiling. Cass sighed and muttered an apology and sat down on her bed. Skorri sat on the chair that had her cloak and picked it up. Cass kept her eyes away from skorri. He sighed and stood up then moved to sit next to her. "Why are you acting like this today cass? I saw you in training today. You were very good." he complimented. Cass just nodded. "I'm tired and want to rest. But i have dinner with father which i really don't want to attend to." she explained to her friend. Skorri nodded then stood up and walked to the door. He turned and looked at her. "Meet me at the stables after you eat." he said then left, not letting cass respond. Cass sighed then stood to get ready for her dinner with her father.
