I walked into the empty bar still playing music even after closing time. Don't stop believing by journey was playing. I heard a girls voice singing along with the song. "Just a small town girl livin' in a lonely world" her voice belted out like she was alone. I walked to find her because her voice was perfect. I saw her standing there sweeping and dancing. When the song was over I couldn't help but clap. She blushed the said "I'm sorry sir, were closed. I'm going to have to ask you to leave." She looked up at me and I saw her face. She was beautiful and far too skinny. She didn't realise who I was and even if she did, she didn't seem to care. "You're a great singer you know." I announced over the new song. "Thank you but I really have to ask you to leave."
"Right of corse. Sorry." I walked out and waved good bye. She didn't seem to notice me but I heard her singing Closing Time as I walked out.
I went to the same bar the next day to find her. I saw her serving somebody a drink and I sat down right in front of her. "What's your poison today?" She asked me without looking at me. "I'll just have a beer."
"Bottled or tap?"
"Tap."
She served me my beer still without looking at me. I saw a juke box in the back if the room and walked thirds it drink in my hand. I came to 'Don't Stop Believing' and put my quarters in and pushed play. I turned around and saw her standing there quietly singing and I walked back to my bar stool. "You are a great singer you know" I said hoping she would look up at me and recognise my words. We made eye contact and she replayed "Hey you're the guys from last night!"
"Yup that would be me."
"So what's your name? Or should I just keep calling you mystery man?"
"Mystery man is nice but I prefer Jim."
"Well Jim, welcome to our bar! I'm Jane." She said while shaking my hand.
I looked at my watch and realised I was late for my meeting. "Well I have to go but I was nice to meet you, Jane." I handed her my credit card and a $20 tip along with my business card that I wrote on the back of.

"You know who you just severed right?" Andy asked.
"I do now." I said looking down at the card Jim handed me. 'Record Producer'
"He's only the biggest record producer in New York!"
I looked at the back of the card and it said 'call me and we can set up a meeting. I want to make you famous."
I couldn't believe it! HE wanted to make ME famous!
