NATALIE AND CLAY were going to their last period, history. they two have sat next to each other in every class so far, but this class was different. natalie had to sit by the boy from lunch. the one who waved to her. natalie sat, looking behind her to see clay two seats behind her. he looked back, giving her a nervous smile. from being by her side all day, he's learned that natalie is pretty awkward. he knows he can be awkward too, but natalie's a different awkward. she can talk, a lot, and when she does she usually let's embarrassing things from her past slip. even tho clay has only known her for a day, he makes her stop before she lets something out she doesn't want out. natalie noticed, and she's thankful that she found someone to do that for her already.
the bell rang, signaling that class was going to start. " alright, get your books out and turn to page 231. " the teacher announced. natalie got her book from her bag, and turned to the given page. scott took a chance to glance at her, seeing she was struggling to find the page. he quietly laughed to himself, shaking his head. natalie took notice to this and turned to face him. " already acting like an asshole, i see? " she raised both her eyebrows, and nodded towards him. " you don't even know me. how can you assume i'm already an asshole? " the brunette scoffed, looking to face the teacher. scott only smiled again, looking down to his book.
after last period and grabbing her things from her locker, natalie said her goodbyes to clay and went to find her brother. he was standing by his car, talking to some girl. " hey. " natalie interrupted their conversation. the girl quickly walked off, for some reason that natalie couldn't think of. " who was that?" " just a girl from science. " isaac said, getting into the car. " alrighty. " natalie nodded.
