Chapter 4: new friend

OWEN'S POV

I woke up to the blazing sun in my eyes. I felt a sticky substance on my head. Blood. They hit me with a bat! I guess that's new. I tried to stand up, but my head exploded in pain. I laid back down in the grainy... sand. That's when it hit me. I was in a desert. I sprang up ignoring the pain and looked around. An oasis was right there. Not even five feet away. I then noticed how thirsty I was and collapsed. I was still conscious, but slowly dying. i crawled over to the oasis and drank half of it, I swear!

I got up and walked at least a kilometre (1000 meters and yes I'm canadian.) in the distance where an arrow pointed. I knew I had to, the other ways were death!

Soon after, I was grabbed again. I tried to scream, but was muffled by a hand. I was fighting and fighting, but this person was strong and had a big grip. I was pulled into a ditch and heard "Shut up! stop fighting! you'll get us killed!" I did exactly that and the hands let go. I turned to see a female, with long, dark brown hair. She looked to be the same age as me, 17 . I'm not surprised, though. We all get taken at the same age. "The names Nicole. Call me Nikki for short "

"Hey Nikki, my name's Owen."

"Sup. Ok, I have a plan to escape this hell-hole. That's why i dragged you down here. At 12:30 every day, we get a 5 minute break 12:32, guards change. that gives us a twenty second window when no guards are looking. we run to this hole and quietly sprint fast and far."

" I have a different plan. They will just find us again. that's why i'm here. i escaped the DOH (Demons Of Hell) and they just found me. instead, we wait. possibly weeks, possibly months. When we get the perfect chance, we run to that truck," I say pointing to a heavy duty monster truck." Inside, there are guns. Don't ask how I know, I saw them get put in and heard them say keep these in here just in case. two machine guns, one sniper. I'll take the sniper, you take the machine gun and rampage, I snipe, ok?"

"One problem, can you snipe?"

"I hope so. Im in grade 10 you know!"
