Trinity Lilo ran through the house chasing her cat. Her mother Sarah a kind and gentle woman chased after her daughter. "Trinity my, Dear!" She said in her thick french accent that was nothing like her daughter's loud stubborn voice. "I must go to the store, Darling" She said catching her daughter by the back of her hoodie. "OK Mama!" She said flailing around trying to be let go of. "I'll be back in two hours, and Miss Marge will be here soon the watch you, OK?" She said her silver eyes gleaming. "Yes Mama!" Trinity agreed halfheartedly. Sarah smiled and let her down. Trinity swung her long knee length silver hair out of her face, she straightened her blue dress and looked up her eyes locking with her mother's "I swear not to go in Daddy's attic" She said her voice kind of robotic, her mother had never let her in her father's attic. But the thing was Trinity was a superb liar. As soon as her mother left she turned on her heel and sped down the hall to the stairs to the attic, she had done this before but never gotten past the key pad. She had finally broken the code though, she knew no alarms would go off and her mother hadn't set any way to be able to tell if she had gone up there, she quickly punched in her birthdate and lifted the hatch door up, she climbed in and left the hatch open a bit so she could hear when Miss Marge got there. The small space was full of things mainly stuffed roughly into cardboard boxes. Mirrors, music boxes, half finished projects, cloths, pillows, lamps, candles, cards, sculptures, paper, notebooks, and much more just litterded around. What bothered Trinity though was that nothing was covered in dust, it looked like it had been recently touched. She walked over to the notebooks hoping she would find out who had killed her father and why, she had been told he had died in any plain old car crash. She was there when he had died though. It was after her first day of Kindergarten and her father was picking her up, they were pulling out of the parking lot and he had just asked her how it had been and a flash of blue and red lights blinded her temporarily, the car swerved around something and crashed into the side of the school an blew up, she had been shoved out of the car roughly by what she thought felt like her dad's hands right before the car exploded. She had gotten third degree burns on her left arm, and right hip, two of her baby teeth had been knocked out, and her left leg had been broken when the explosion blasted her away and she had hit the ground. After that while she was in the hospital she was questioned personally by the mare, court and, her mother. She had explained the blue and red lights and the way her father pushed her out of harm's way. No one seemed to get that the lights came before the accident. They all just kept telling her that the lights were the cop cars. She came back to reality and opened her eyes, something caught her attention, out of the corner of her eye she saw a sealed envelope tucked under a cardboard box. She went over and picked it up, it with big messy handwriting that she didn't recognize was addressed to her.
TRINITY LILO
MONA LISA DRIVE
SMALLEST ROOM IN THE HOUSE
It was a very short letter in the same big messy handwriting she didn't recognize from the envelope.
Dearest Trinity Lilo,
Check the cupboard, third from the right fourth from the top. Love from your .........
That name was smudged so badly that Trinity couldn't read who had written it. She stood up and walked over to the cupboards, finding the right one she opened it and pulled out a diary faded light brown with age. She picked it up and was about to open it when the front door banged open. "Miss Marge" She breathed stuffing the diary and letter under her sweater, and climbed quickly down the stairs. She closed the attic and sneaked down the hall to her bedroom, she closed the door and hid the Diary under her bed. Trinity looked in the mirror and brushed some dust out of her long silver hair, hitching a smile on her face she crashed out of her room and ran to Miss Marge, her awesome baby sitter. she had bright red hair, colorful leggings, tank top, and a baggy red sweatshirt on, her headphones were around her neck and she always was a lot of fun. Trinity hugged her legs and smiled up at her. "Hello Miss Marge!" She said brightly. Miss Marge grinned and picked her up tossing her backpack aside. "Wassup Trin?" She asked throwing Trinity up and catching her again. "Nothing much, I was going to watch Shrek when you got here!" She said smoothly. "Good!" Miss Marge said putting her down. "I haven't seen it in 8 hours it's been awhile. I think I forgot line three of puss in boots." She said sarcastically. "Hey! That's not fair! We watched the fifth element four times in one week!" Trinity said teasingly as she bounced into the living room. She put in Shrek and sat down on the couch next to Miss Marge. After about an hour Trinity faked a huge convincing yawn and said drowsily. "I'm going to bed Miss Marge." She said. Miss Marge looked surprised. "You never go to bed this early!" She said checking her watch. Trinity nodded. "I know. I stayed up late last night finishing my fairytale for school." She lied easily. Miss Marge nodded. "Ok, Your Mum will be pleased to hear you went to bed early at least." She said pausing the movie. Trinity hugged her then slowly and tiredly trudged upstairs. She brushed her teeth then changed into her PJs and laid down in bed. She pulled the diary out from under her bed after checking the Miss Marge was still watching the movie. Pulling out her flashlight she aimed it at the messy writing.
Entry One,
"Alright let's get four things straight before you read on. If you have this book in your possession I'm either dead or held in a prison called Dramadeck on an uninhabited and unknown island in the middle of the pacific ocean. Two, You're are not to share this Diary with no one but yourself Trinity, Not even you dear Baby sitter, and especially not you mother. Three, I'm your father, I'll explain later. Four, do NOT come looking for me, that is an order Trinity! DO NOT TRY TO FIND ME! Bye for now. I'll talk later Trinbean."
Trinity reread the page fifteen times. My father? My Father! She thought over and over. Her first thought was to go look for him despite the fact that he had just told her not to. But then suspicion came over her. This could be a practical joke from someone. Besides. A prison called Dramadeck? In the middle of the pacific ocean. It seemed unlikely. But he knew the nickname he always called me? A nagging voice asked at the back of her head. Trinity flipped the page and read the next entry.
Entry Two,
"Now that I've laid down the rules let me introduce myself. Since I died or was captured when you were five you may very well don't remember me. My name is Phin Efron. I am a warlock and a very good one if I may say myself. I'm currently 46, I love playing the piano, reading the paper and doing the crossword, We used to have a dog named Dugless, he was a rottweiler. Your mother hated him. I think he is the best dog ever and is currently hiding outside the prison so when I break out we can leave together. Oh shit! Fuck Sweet pea I need to go! The guards are coming and they hate it- I'm sorry I hav-"
The writing abruptly stopped. Trinity no matter how much this sounded like a bunch of bullcrap was intrigued. She flipped the page and saw the shortest entry yet.
Entry Three,
"I'm sorry TrinBean. I have to go.. I will be gone for a few days... I have been caught writing again. The whipping is coming in a few hours and it will the worst one yet. I won't be able to write for a few days. Love you from the moon and back.."
Her eyes went wide. Whatever this 'Prison' was it was a cruel one. She flipped the page and found it empty. Disappointed she tucked the mostly empty Diary under her bed and turned her flashlight off. Trinity pulled the covers up noticing her eyes were heavy with tiredness. She fell into a deep sleep filled with dreams of flashing blue and red lights and wails of pain.
Hey! This is the edited version. Little different from last time. :)
