"You can talk to me darlin' if ya need." Mccree spoke softly. He was trying to get you to talk to him. At least say something. "I'm fine." You growled. You wouldn't make eye contact. He wanted to know why. All the sudden the door to the roof flew open. "Jesse Mccree! You are supposed to be resting!" It was Angela. He sighed, pushed himself up, and followed her. He took a brief glance in your direction. He made eye contact with you. Your (e/c) eyes clouded and puffy from crying. He felt bad. But he followed Angela anyway.
You sat on the roof thinking. It's been so long, you need to learn how to let go. You were trying to convince yourself. But it all felt like it happened yesterday. You sighed. It was getting lighter out, showing you how long you had been outside. You stood up and walked inside. You went to your room and straightened yourself up for the long day ahead. Keep a clear mind. Don't flip the fuck out. You had to be focused. You had to be calm and collected.
Mccree sat up in his bed talking to Gabe. Gabe was, for the tenth time today, scolding him for getting his arm blown off. Angela saved his ass. "Gabe, he can't rest with you lecturing him." She didn't even turn to look at him. Mccree chuckled as Gabe walked out. As Gabe was walking out, he held the door for you to come in. "Angela, you asked to see me." You spoke dryly. Like always. "Yes, I need you to make Mccree a new arm." Angela spoke gathering her things and walking out.
Mccree sat up straight waiting for you to say something but you said nothing as you walked over to him. You started examining his arms, taking measurements and notes. "Mccree, any pains?" You spoke. Your voice hoarse. Mccree frowned. "I told ya darlin' you can call me Jesse. And it hurts a bit." He spoke softly though you could hear the annoyance hidden in his voice. He then took some medicine you administered him. "Can I ask you something." You never made eye contact with Mccree as you spoke. He just nodded. "Why are you so...determined...to." You didn't know how to finish your sentence. Mccree understood though. "I do it darlin', 'cause I know ya can't do this alone. Everyone's worried. You not saying anythin' even though you're clearly sufferin'. It's not good." He spoke softly. His voice oddly soothing to you. "I know that you think ya have to turn your back on the world. That it ain't gonna hurt you if you push it away." Mccree paused. He sighed and stood up. He walked over towards you. He used his only hand to make you face him. "Y/N. Fighting the world will kill you before it kills it." His hand rested on your cheek. It sent a shiver down your spine.
Time seems to stop. It's just you and him. "I know this first hand." He was done. He had said what needed to be said. Now there was silence. Your faces centimeters apart. You can't get this involved with someone. But you yearned to. You placed both of your hands on his chest. His thumb caressing you cheek. He closed the gap. You kissed back. You can't do this!! You can't!! He'll be gone soon!! You'll be left broken!!! STOP!! Your mind screamed. You ignored it though. You needed this. Your hands strayed from his chest up to his head. You flicked off his hat and ran your fingers through his hair. His hand never left your face. You both parted for a second to breathe. He gave you a lopsided smile and attacked your lips again. This time slipping tongue. Pure bliss. He strayed down to your jaw. Then to your neck. This felt amazing. Never have you felt something like this. Back to your lips he came. You never wanted this moment to end. Like all good things though. It did. He smiled softly. He then quickly pecked your nose. You laughed slightly causing him to chuckle.
You were smiling. Mccree has never seen you smile. He likes it. Your laugh, your smile. It was contagious. "Y'know. That could've been better, if I had another arm." He cleared his throat. You laughed. "Alright, alright!" Mccree went and sat back down on the bed.
