A/N: Please note that this is only a short story and isn't true. Annabeth will not die in the blood of olympus.

My name is Percy Jackson. Also known as Annabeth's former boyfriend. Why the former? Why can't it be current?

I ask myself that everyday.

Where's Annabeth? Aren't we supposed to be together forever? I ask myself those same questions over and over.

Then I remember. She's gone.

The awful day from years ago started when Nico appeared. I hadn't expected him to come by since he was supposed to be witb Reyna and Hedge.

"Nico?" I had asked him. "You're supposed to be with Hedge and Reyna. Why are you-" I began to ask him. He'd cut me off.

He had looked like he'd been stabbed in the gut. "I only came for one reason" He said. "Let's just get this over with" He said. I had gotten confused for a minute. What did he know that I didn't?

"You and I both know one of us won't make it. And if one of us does, we'd be injured" He'd began to say. I nodded. I hadn't known how to respond. "Percy... I-" He began to wince. "I like you" Nico had said.

I didn't understand. "I like you too. You're like a little brother to me" I had said smiling.

"Not like that" Nico said. He'd grabbed me and pulled me closer to him. I didn't know what he was doing, so I just let him.

Who knew that would be the worst mistake of my life? It still haunts me.

He pushed his face against mine, matching our lips. I'd looked at him like he were crazy.

I'd forgotten how to move. I was so startled. A whimper came from somewhere close. "Percy?" Annabeth's broken voice had asked.

I began to struggle, pushing Nico away. When I got him off of me, he ran into the shadows and was gone.

Ashamed of myself for letting Nico kiss me, I quickly hit a wall then came rushing over to Annabeth's side. She was crying.

"Annabeth-" I'd began to say.

She shook her head. "No, Percy. Don't bother explaining. I saw it all myself" She said and ran off. We'd been below deck on the Argo || so she ran on the stairs to the deck.

I'd punched a wall. Again. And Again. And Again. I punched it until a hole appeared. I looked at my fist. It was clenched and bruised.

I softly let my fist open.

"I said, leave me alone!" I heard Annabeth shout from above. She was running and someone was behind her. I knew she wouldn't want to talk to me, so I stayed.

"Annabeth! Just listen!" It was Piper. She was chasing Annabeth.

I'd made an idiotic choice staying below deck. I didn't get above the deck until a blood curtling cry broke out. "ANNABETH!" There was lots of tears involved.

I'd ran up the deck as fast as I could. I wasn't fast enough.

She fell.

Annabeth wasn't paying attention to where she was running. Her hands covered her eyes. She tripped and fell off the ship.

I fell tears wash into my eyes. "ANNABETH!" I began yelling as I had raced over to the railing to try and catch her. I was too slow, yet again.

I reached my hand out for hers, who was reaching hers up. "I love you, Percy" Were her last words.

She was falling faster. Jason jumped over board to try and catch her, but when he went searching, he said she was lost in the clouds.

When we finally found her, she was surronded by blood on the ground. We could tell she'd fell hard. Well, everyone else could. I refused to search with them.

I didn't want to see her.

Her funeral was the next day. Well, we had our own. The real one was going to wait until we got to camp again.

"She was a very wonderful girl. Its a shame she was only 18 years of age. She was way too young to die. If only she was looking-" Hazel was speaking. She began to sob so Frank took her from the podium Leo made.

It was my turn to speak. Piper and Frank had already spoken before Hazel.

"Annabeth. Now where do I begin? Ah, yes. We met for the first time when we were only 12 year olds. I was in the infirmary at camp. When I woke up, you know what she said? You drool in your sleep. Those were the first words she spoke to me. She was a very unique and entertaining girl. She was also very smart and talented and always knew what was what. If it weren't for her, I wouldn't be standing here right now. I would be dead. She always knew what to do. She always had a plan. I'm glad she was mine. She put through all my Percy-ness. That's hard to do with out loosing your temper -which she's done sometimes- and/or threatening to kill me. Yesterday, when she was falling, her arm was reached out, probably trying to grab mine, and she told me her last words. I love you, Percy" I spoke.

I hadn't even realized I was crying and that I made the girls cry. I stepped off the podium and walked into the audience.

Jason stood onto the podium and spoke. "Even though I hadn't known Annabeth that long, I knew she was a wonderful girl. She was a strong and brave leader. She was also very wise. Don't want to forget that. I never expected this day to come. It was all so sudden-" Jason was cut off.

He touched two fingers to his nose. "She never should have died. Lets just pray she makes it into Elysium"

He stepped off the podium.

Leo didn't write a speech. He said he would, but he decided not too. He'd said he couldn't bare speaking.

We all gathered and made a huge hug. "It'll be alright, everyone. Let's just win this war for Annabeth" Jason had began to say.

We had all backed up. We all shouted in unison, "FOR ANNABETH!" then we all walked over to her in her coffin Leo made.

I was first. My hands were trembling. Out of my back pocket, I grabbed something. a small box.

No one knew what was inside it except for me. It was a ring. I was going to propose to her after the war. Well, when I turn 18.

"Make it to elysium, Annabeth. When I die, I'm going to try and meet you there. If I don't find you, then I'd die all over again" I had spoken to her.

I tucked the ring into her lifeless hands. They were cold.

I walked back to the ship. Not wanting to wait for everyone else.

In current day, I am age 29 and I still haven't loved anyone as much as Annabeth. Sure, a few girls have hit on me, but I rejected them.

I refused to love anyone else.

I've had a girlfriend. Her name was Kalley. She was a daughter of Aphrodite. We broke up after a few months. She was way too different than Annabeth for my likings.

I live alone in an apartment in Manhatten. I have a job at camp half-blood training the new demigods how to sword fight and occasionally the little kids like to have me tell them stories about Annabeth.

"She was wonderful. I remember one time we accidently fell asleep in the stables while talking, we got in so much trouble. I didn't help her explain to Frank when I said we kissed a little" I told a girl about 6 years old today.

She had asked me a lot about Annabeth since the girl was a daughter of Athena as well. She looked a lot like Annabeth. I never really caught her name.

But I know that when Grover brought her in, he was crying. He refused to have told me why.

I had my suspicions.

She was Annabeth reborn.
