It's 7am when my alarm goes of. Today is the first day of my senior year in high school. I feel like I've been waiting for this day my whole life. Mainly because of the fact that now we're the oldest at the school and those older guys that used to bully me and flush my head down the toilet are officially gone and I'll probably never have to see them again.
Don't get me wrong, I love school, I just don't really like the people at school. I'm very awkward when it comes to people.
I guess I'm what people would call a nerd? Yes, I wear glasses and yes, I like to study a lot. But I don't think I'd consider myself a nerd because of that?
Its 7:45 when I'm done eating my breakfast and I realize that the buss will be here any minute.
"Mom?!" I yell to the livingroom where my mom is.
"Yeah what is it?"
"I'm leaving for school now!"
"Are you sure you don't want me to drive you? I mean it's your first day of school and all."
"Exactly mom, it's my first day of school as a senior and that's a perfect example to why you shouldn't drive me to school. I'll take the bus" I say in frusteration as I slam the door. She still thinks I'm 10 years old and need a ride to school. The last thing I need is all the kids at my school seeing my mom dropping me of at school. No thank you
The bus comes as soon as I step out of the house, and I thank God that the bus came 5 minutes late or I would've never made it to the bus in time.
I take a seat in the middle of the bus, I usually sit at the front of the bus to avoid all the punks and "cool" kids in the back, but today all the seats at the front were taken.
Just as I'm about to sit down someone throws a pen at the back of my head. I turn around to see a green haired boy with a smirk on his face.
"New glasses Hemmings? I like 'em. Real cool I must say." He says with a cooky voice while the rest of his little squad starts laughing.
"Yeah, real cool haha!" A boy with ashy blonde curly hair joins in.
"Shut up Irwin, thats exactly what I just said" The boy with the crazy colored hair says.
I just take my seat and chose to ignore them for the rest of the ride.
Oh and that green haired boy? That's Michael Clifford, we actually used to be really good friends believe it or not, that was until he started dying his hair in all of these crazy colors, pierced his eyebrow, started wearing ripped skinny jeans and hanging out with the punks. And now he's basically the leader of their "clique".
When I step into school the first thing I hear is my best friend Calum, screaming my name.
"Luke! Hey, how was your summer?" He says while walking towards me with a big smile on his face making his face look even more squishy than usual.
"Hey Cal, I haven't seen you all summer where have you been? It was okay, not good and not bad. Just okay I guess. And how was yours?" I sigh.
"Oh it was bloody amazing, I went to a camp all summer, and I kissed a girl!! Like a real life actual girl, we even started making out for a bit I think. I'm not completely sure what the difference between making out and kissing is yet."
"Haha yeah that is amazing. So do you sti- Wow, whos that?" I say as a girl with pastel blue hair and an iron maiden shirt catches my attention.
"Her name is Aurora I think, she just moved here from California. Why? You think she's pretty? She looks like a flipping cow with that piercing in her nose" He says with a serious voice.
"No I was just wondering since I've never seen her before and all. Well I gotta go to class, I wanna be there a couple of minutes before it starts. See you at lunch?"
"Yeah ofcourse, I'll meet you there"
When I step into math class theres no one there yet only the teacher, thank god. I like to be first to class just so I can get settled in before everyone else gets there.
"Hello sir, I'm Luke Hemmings, it's very nice to meet you" I say as I reach my hand out to the new math teacher.
"Hey, I'm Mr. Martello, you know you're 5 minutes early right? You can still go out and hang with your friends until the bell rings." He says shaking my hand.
Pfft, what friends? I have Calum and that's about it.
"Oh yeah I know, I just like to get to class a little bit earlier than everyone that's all. If you don't mind than I'll leave ofcourse." I say while taking a seat in the front of the classroom.
"Yeah ofcourse it's fine, I'd rather want my students to be early than late you know haha?" He laughs.
The door opens and the girl with the pastel blue hair I saw earlier walks in.
"So is this math class?"
