I grabbed my bag and quickly walked out. Shocked just ran through my body. I wasn't mad at Amber for doing what she does I was more upset with her not telling me. Amber and I have known each other for a very long time and we always tell each other everything.
"Lea, let me explain!" Amber yelled out to me from behind.
I turned around and looked at her. She no longer was dressed in her navy blue jeans she walked out of the house with. She wore a diamond lace bra with a white thong.
"Amber.." Her name was all I could manage to say as I tried to take in everything.
"I'm sorry I didn't tell you. I was going to tell you earlier but I just couldn't find the words to. I mean look at me, Lea! I'm a fucking stripper for god sakes, not exactly a dream job." She said as she looked down clearly upset with her actions.
"Look, I could care less if you were a stripper. The only thing that upset me was that you lied to me." I walked over to her and placed a hand on her shoulder.
"I'm sorry. I know I shouldn't have lied to you, but I just didn't want you to judge me." She looked up at me with tears ready to slip out any second.
"Baby, I would never judge you. Hell, I use to go around school saying I wanted to be a stripper thinking that shit was cute" we both giggled at the memory. "I don't care what you do for a living! I love you and if this is what you do then I'm completely okay with it." I wiped away a tear that managed to escape from her watery eyes and gave her a small smile.
"Thank you." I gave her a hug and as we parted a deep manly voice yelled out to Amber.
"Coco! You're needed back inside"
"I'll be right there!" She said looking back at him than me.
"Coco? Really" I giggled at the stage name they gave her.
"What?? I like it." She said showing her straight white teeth with a cute smile. "So, before I go back in..I know you're in need of a job and I thought maybe-" I quickly cut her off before she could even finish that sentence.
"Uh no. I am not dancing in front of horny men that could possibly rape me" I folded my arms together and raised my eyebrow at her not liking the idea she suggested.
"Oh my god. No, you can just be a bartender. They pay really well, especially since it's owned by The Wilson Company, the wealthiest company around, and they're pretty big on paychecks." Once she mentioned big paychecks my ears instantly perked up.
I was in desperate need of money and I guess even if I had to become a dancer to get a bigger paycheck then I would. I only need the money to keep myself up financially of course and to start school again. Plus, I really do need to pay Amber back for helping me get her.
"How much are we talking?" I questioned her.
"40 the hour + the tips, " she said taking me back a little.
"I'm in baby!" I said practically yelling at her.
"Aight! I'll give a good word later tonight to the boss and I'll let you know what he says." She then quickly walked back inside and just after the girls popped out.
"Shorty! Why'd you run off like that?" Chugs managed to say to me. She was clearly even drunker since she couldn't even keep herself up as she walked out the Club doors.
"I'll explain later but right now we need to get your ass home! You've had way too many." I walked over to her to place my jacket around her.
"I'll drive home since I didn't even drink much" Angie stated as we then walked it over to the car ready to just get to her place.
