thedankparade requested a "House of Wolves or This Is How I Disappear" inspired drawing so, I did this at about 3am.
My sleep-deprived mind also made up a theory that Helena, I'm Not Okay, Ghost of You, Welcome To The Black Parade, This Is How I Disappear and Famous Last Words are connected while drawing this.
So, Helena was written about Gerard and Mikey's grandmother Elena Way so maybe Mikey's character got really depressed over her death and became bullied at school for being an 'emo', where I'm Not Okay comes in.
Some people that are bullied severely take their own lives but Mikey has more common sense than that so he enlists in the army. Frank, Gerard and Ray sign up too since they're sick if the bullying too. Mikey gets killed in the war (Ghost of You) and this is where my theory splits in two, Mikey's POV in the afterlife and Gerard's POV in the living.
Welcome To The Black Parade is Mikey's way of transitioning into the afterlife, being met with the parade when he dies. This Is How I Disappear and Famous Last Words are written from Gerard's view. The line, "and without you, this is how I disappear," could be about Gerard falling into a depression upon Mikey dying and the line, "I see you lying next to me," in Famous Last Words was actually about the fact that when they were younger, Mikey would have nightmares and sleep on the floor beside Gerard's bed, feeling safer knowing that he was there. This could be a callback to their childhood from Gerard finding comfort in the fact that thanks to the memories (no reference intended), Mikey will always be with him.
I don't know... anyone else see it?
