At the dining table

nothing could be heard except the spoons, forks all communicating with the plates. I was tired of the silence so I decided to maybe start a convo on the table.
"ammi your food tastes different today" I said looking at ammi, earning a glare from her, I somehow managed to talk again. "okay, sorry I was just joking. you are the best and forever shall be the best cook in my lifetime" she just gave me a one second look before concentrating on her food. weird!!

I tried again to bring life to my poor family but they won't just talk. can you believe even the famous talkative sameer Ishaq khan is not talking today. I'm sooo freaking out right now!!!! I give up, I faced my food with a defeated sigh and continued my food with a dull expression.

After breakfast, I was halfway through the stairs when it clicked to my head "...a meeting after breakfast..." aapi's words kept ringing in my ears, with a groan I turned and headed to the living room, again only person absent. I went further and sat down next to  baba before the meeting commenced. baba started after making sure all his family members are present with him in the living room"so as you all heard I called this meeting not on emergency purpose but for a get together family stuff..." I interrupted with a cough earning glares from bhai, like seriously will it hurt to just show his teeth, we don't even know if they are white. baba shook his head and continued "so starting from you asma, how is life going" he asked even though we are all aware of her life status. "well baba I'll be going back to new York today my flight will be in the next 8 hours or so, nothing more nothing less" she explained cause that can't be just stating. he did the fatherly advice and moved on. "salman how is the business going?" geee here we go again stuck in the middle of business. they talked and talked and talked for hours...OK maybe I'm exaggerating just a little bit but hey when you know nothing in a conversation, the time tends to slow down. salman bhai said something along the line that made both him and baba to turn and look at me which made me curious. I turned to ask sameer just maybe I'll get answer but the moment I turned to look at him he turned completely away from me. owk this is really freaky, creepy and weird. something is wrong that I'm not aware of. still pondering on what could be the problem that I'm not aware of, someone shook me to drag me out the world of ponders. "princess anything wrong" baba asked with a questioning look. I plastered a real bright smile and replied "of course baba everything is fine, what could possible go wrong when I'm here with my daddy". relief gushed through his face as he dragged me closer to his heart. " how is school?" baba asked stroking my hair. that question really gets on my nerves, I mean how can someone be asking of school when its a weekend I just closed my eyes and answered with the usual fine. the meeting continued but one was bothering me...sameer isn't talking!!!
