Prologue
The world was once ruled by humans. They were known to be the top predators among all other animals.
However a new species soon arose, ones that had existed since the ancient times, living in secret.
They made themselves known to the world, but seemed to possess a kind of power. Fire could not harm them and they commanded terrible and powerful beasts that could destroy whole cities to the ground. Dragons. These beings were neither man nor beast, but something entirely different. Men with dragon blood. They were the Dotat, gifted with the abilities their dragon blood gave them.
A massive war raged on between humans and the Dotat for years in a struggle for power. It was called the Fire War. Many died during this war and much was destroyed. By the end, humans were nearly extinct. With no other choice, they were forced to surrender, but not until after killing the very last dragon, and with it a secret known only to mankind. As a form of punishment to the hamans for their deed, the Dotats enslaved man to forever serve them.
Since then, human kind has suffered under the Dotats' abusive and cruel rein. Too afraid to rebel, the humans remain obedient to avoid any further destruction. Many give up on the hope of restoring the power that was once theirs and are forced to accept their fate.
That is, until now.
