1 hour later-

Nothing.

Absolutely nothing.

At least, for me. Clara had found a plant fossil, but no amber. While the fossil was pretty cool, you can't regenerate a pokemon (or plant) from fossils, you need the amber, which holds DNA.

Charmander, Squirtle, and Linoone were out and attempting to assist us, but to no avail.

"How much longer do you want to dig in this site for?" Clara questioned, breaking the silence.

"As long as it takes," was my reply. I had a feeling bout this place. There's something here, I just know it.

20 minutes later-

"Ugh! There's nothing here!" I flopped onto my back, staring blankly at the cave ceiling in exasperation. Clara sighed beside me, and set down her tools.

"Would you like to go to ano-" before Clara could finish, a giant tremor quaked through the cave, rocking our tools and sending Clara and the pokemon sprawling into the dirt.

Another tremor followed soon after the first, quickly joined by two others, before the ground finally stopped shaking. Debris had fallen around us, and I slowly rose of the floor from my fetal position, lifting my hands off my head.

"What was that?" I asked Clara. For once, she seemed at a lost for words.

Suddenly, a loud cracking sound filled the cave, and slowly the edges of the cave floor began to collapse.

"Return!" Both Clara and I cried as we bolted to the cave entrance. The floor began to crumbling faster now, the rocks and tools disappearing into the dark depth below. I leaped for the entrance, trying to jump the rapidly growing gap.

I missed, my lower body slammed into the newly made cliff, my hands desperately grasping at the ledge above. I could vaguely hear myself screaming, not seeming to notice that silence could be heard from where Clara should have been.

A rock feel from the ceiling above, slamming onto my left hand. I let out an ear-splitting shriek of pain, before letting go of the ledge, clutching my throbbing hand to my chest. As I fell, a piece of falling debris hit my fore head, rendering me unconscious.

Sorry for such a short chapter, but it didn't make sense for me to continue from this point just yet. You'll have to wait until next week to get what happens next.

(By the way, I go to a band camp next week, so the next chapter will be uploaded earlier then expected.)
