My eyes glaze over the pages of my book. I'm not really interested in The Lord Of The Flies, but it makes for a good shield against any conversation my fellow detention goers may try to make. Not that they would ever want to talk to me, the weird kid who mysteriously transferred in the middle of the semester with no explanation. No; they all have their own cliques and reputations to protect, none of which I fit into. In fact, this is probably the first and last time I will ever be in the company of these three at the same time. Bailey Garcia - the smartest girl on campus, Reece Martin - Football captain and overall golden boy, and Tia Smith - the schools sweetheart and our next prom queen. It's almost laughable how cliche this situation is.
I want to get out of here as soon as possible. Why did I have to do it? If only Jacob Kowalski hadn't been a jerk to that girl, I wouldn't be sitting here. My dad says I can't complain, after what happened, I'm lucky to still even be at school. And with the other 'incident' on my record, I can't afford to get kicked out... again.
