Abby Above

Song For The Chapter: Panic Room by Au/Ru

"How could I possibly stop a war that I did not even know was going on?" I sit back down on the bean bag chair. "I know it seams like a lot but Abby and I will help you along the way. I would recommend that we start classes now, your pretty vulnerable." Al gets up from his seat. "I have a question. How long was I asleep?" I follow Al down the stairs and out the hangout. "I don't think you want to know" Al walks down the street looking around and smelling the air as if ignoring me. "If I asked the question then I want to know." I stop following him and put my foot down. Al will not just put me off. Al whispers "2 years". My heart drops. I missed 2 good years of my free life away from my mom and now I am here. I did not ask for this. "We don't have time for this. Lets keep moving." I role my eyes and keep walking. We walk into a bar. Everyone looks at us. Al goes to the bartender and says something in a different language. He points to a door that is slightly open. The door opens to a flower filled world. It almost seems like a different place. "Wow." I breathe in the warm air. I look back for the door but it has vanished. "What is this place?" My feet feel like they are flying. "Our real house. Abby and me lived her as kids. Now its a training place." Al opens the front door to a nice open farm house. It has a touch of modern design but still small bits of the old house peak through. "Ready to get training?" Al is smiling with excitement. "Why do I need to train again?" I ask as we walk down to and well lit open basement. Workout equipment fills the room. "So I cant do this." Before I could even take another breath Al has me on the floor with a knife inches from my face. "Wow" Abby walks in. "It may look cool but its the oldest trick. I'm pretty sure you know how vampires work. Getting a knife to the face is not to bad. Just got to take it out and it will heal in a day or two mattering how bad it is. But you always want to keep your heart out of reach." Al helps me up. "How about I teach you."

Al shows me a few punches and kicks then help me learn how to stop objects from coming at me. Who knew I could catch a knife being thrown at my face with my bare hands. After I gained many cuts and bruises Abby showed me to my room. She gives me clothes and points to the bathroom in my room.  I come out in jeans and a t-shirt that says 'work for what you love'. Abby sits me down on the bed. "You seem pretty ok with this situation. Why? Other people say its a dream or not real when they can very much die." I look at her for a second gathering my mind that is falling down a hill that has now bottom. "Well I guess it because I have nothing left. I was already far from home and my mom." I stop at the word mom. Just saying it gets me mad. "Something bad happen at home?" Abby puts her hand on my back making me click back into place. "I rather not... talk about it." I look into her eyes. Abby looks away "You know when you woke up they would have killed you if Al did not take you in. It was because they where scared of you. You have some power that they did not know about. Its radiating of you like perfume. " Abby says. "With great power comes a fall. Remember." Abby walks out. I did not realize how late it was and tired I was. Soon my eyes shut and im asleep.

I wake up in the middle of the night hungry as a starving animal. Back to my stomach punching me  again. A strong smell flows into my room. I walk out my room and down the hall to the kitchen. The smell comes from a small mini fridge. When I open it I scream. There are packs of blood. What makes the situation worse is that there where hands and eyes. Abby appears behind me with a cup full of blood. "Its hard to sleep when you are screaming." She closes the mini fridge. "Some of us like different thing." Abby's eyes are a bright red. "And I would prefer if you do not question me." I look at her for a second. "I don't  'eat' the stuff. I just prefer it like that." Abbys eyes go back to the normal dark brown and she gives me the cup then goes to her room. The cup of cold red blood makes my stomach grumble. Not eating will only make this situation worse. I slam the cup down trying to hold my self back. Part of me wanted to run from this scary place yet there was something pushing my body to drink it. When I can't take it I drink the blood. "I need more" Something pushes forward that is not me. It shoves me back and takes all the packs from Abbys mini fridge. "More. I need more." It rushes me out the house and goes to the end of the meadow. It says the work Al said before then a door opens. I try to get back control but I cant seem to find my self. The other me runs through the city speeding by. It finds a women on her phone walking down an empty street. I watch as I drag her away in to an ally and drain all the life out of her. When its done I am put back into control. At that point all I can make my self do is cry. "She is dead and its all my doing." Al stands at the opening to the ally. "How about we go pick up Abby some sorry blood from the hospital and get you back home." I nod.
