It was a Saturday morning if I recall correctly. I got up to do my usual routine. Eat breakfast, play video games, and jump on my bed to text my girlfriend. She was so beautiful, and smart, she made my heart race sometimes. Although today was different. When I picked up my phone to text her the screen went all blue where my thumb was at. I waved my thumb back and forth on the screen and the blue fallowed. This was extremely odd, I put the phone down on my green pillow only to see it float above it. "What the hell is going on?" I whispered to myself. It remained bobbing like a ball in a wavy pool, and the farther I stepped away from it the closer it got to the pillow, until finally it lay there with no movement at all.
It wasn't long till my mother called my name from downstairs. "Raven!" I heard her yell, I hate it when she calls me by my real name. I jumped from the top of the stairs and landed on my feet just enough to jump back up and scare her as she made her way into the kitchen. "AAAHH! you scared me!" she said with a sarcastic tone. I shrugged my shoulders and helped her with the groceries. It wasn't long till my aunt and uncle came in with the rest.
"Hey there BOY! wanna give us a hand over here?" he called out.
"No..." I said and looked him in the eye for what I could have sworn was a minute till we started laughing. My family was great, close, we never fought, and I thought things would be alright... or so I thought.
"So Raven, we know that your birthday is in a few weeks, but thought maybe you'd want to show off your present at school". I gave them a puzzled look, normally they won't let me open anything till the day of, so to just give me something early is another unusual thing today.
"Thanks! what is it?" I asked as they handed me a black box with a silver bow. As I unravelled the fancy ties, I notice the box had very unique writing on it, nothing that i've ever seen before. The top of the box pushed itself off and onto the counter, but no one seemed to notice for they were still getting their cameras ready. I pulled out the chain to find what looked like a bird with two heads, one half was white with a halo, the other was black with horns, and in the center was a stone with moving colors inside. My mother was eager, waiting to see how I was going to react. My uncle put his arm around my aunt "we're sorry we couldn't afford you anything big, like the new amp you wanted, but we put what we had together to get you this". "The owner said it was passed down through the ages, and unlocks the owners potential. We thought maybe you'd at least like a little confidence boost before you do your audition next weekend" my mother said. I smiled and put it on, "Thanks guys, this really means a lot to me". we all smiled and made a big group hug.
The necklace started glowing, and gave off a dark purple aura! Purple lightning struck every part of the room engulfing the room in black mist. Once I was done freaking my shit and started realizing what was going on, I grabbed the necklace to pull it off. Sadly it only got worse, for my family had dissolved into black sand and disintegrated. Voices came from around me, "outsider!", "ONE OF THEM!", "Disgrace!!!" repeating over and over! I was being dragged down somewhere... and where ever it was.... I wasn't welcome....
