ALEX'S POINT OF VIEW
We knew.
We knew that like her mother, Joy's life will be ended very soon.
Too soon.
I knew it.
And yet, I tried to ignore it.
Tried to ignore her grave weight loss.
Tried to convince myself that Joy was always thin.
I told myself that as long as she didn't tell me anything, then she's alright.
I'm alright.
Everything's alright.
I trusted her.
Maybe a little too much.
Because when she told.
It was too late.
And I hated her for it.
If she just told me a little sooner.
I would've tried my best to help her.
But my best wasn't enough.
It never was.
