[Shaira's POINT OF VIEW]

Since he left for work, I spent my days cleaning the house and tutoring my son while killing time. I glanced at the clock and noticed how fast the time had passed. It was already evening, and dinner was just around the corner.

"Josh, dinner is almost ready. Go and clean the table," I said as I placed a bowl of chicken curry on the table.

"Can we wait for dad?"

"Alright. Let me call your dad first," I replied.

I tried delaying our dinner for a minute, hoping Jhotam would come and join us. I tried ringing his phone, but the line was busy, so I thought he must have had unfinished business.

Since he's not coming, and our son must be fetched to bed I had no choice but to feed Tamra first. I said, "Come on. Josh, time to eat."

I sighed and glanced at the wall clock again. Should I consume my dinner or wait for my husband?

"But dad isn't here yet," Tamra replied as he occupied his usual spot.

"Daddy is busy. You should eat now, and later I'll send you to bed, okay?"

He nodded and started eating. My son might be hard-headed sometimes when his dad is around. But more often, he listens to me more than he listens to his dad.

"Wake me up when daddy's around."

"Sure thing."

I watched my son finish his meal. Then, I tacked him to bed. Later on, I left my child's room as soon as the little guy fell asleep.

I returned to the kitchen and made a hot coffee while waiting for Jhotam. I could hear the ticking of the clock as utter silence enveloped the dining. The food became winter's breeze, yet that person is still not here. I'm starting to feel uneasy because he didn't try to call me once. Didn't he know I was worried all along? And I'm starving to death. I've waited this long to be able to dine with him. On the other hand, I realized I was being childish and unreasonable for hating him. Who knows, he must have been occupied with a lump of work and transactions. As his wife, I must be considerate.

I could have fallen asleep, but I want to open the garage for him. Also, I want to be the first person to greet him after a long, exhausting day. I keep walking back and forth, waiting to hear a familiar beep of a car.

My foot gave up on me, so I rested on my sofa and distracted myself with drama on the 48 inches LED screen. I don't know how long the television had consumed me, but the next thing I heard was a loud beep outside.

I stood up and flew my way to open the garage for my husband. However, all my exasperation disappeared when a lady jumped off my husband's car.

"You're still awake?" Jhotam asked as he opened the garage before I could even lay my finger on the gate.

I was too speechless to utter words. My eyes were starting to water as I watched my husband and the girl hiding behind him. My foot was too numb to escape my situation.

When I finally managed to find my voice, all I had gathered and voiced out was, "W-What's the meaning of this?"
