My Partner's Bestfriend

Chapter 5

You are now standing outside the front door of Tobio's house.

You were invited by his parents to join them for dinner.

//Flashback//

The two of you are walking along the streets of your neighborhood. It was already dark. The only light illuminating the road are from the lampost , the twinkling stars and the bright moon. The two of you walk side by side without speaking a word, a comfortable silence between you both. But there's no such thing as 'FOREVER' in the cosmos.

A sudden ringtone startled you and the black haired guy beside you. Handing you the paper bags he was holding , then fumbling in getting his buzzing phone out of his pocket.

He looked to see who the caller was and answered the call, bringing his phone to his right ear.

You listened closely to the black haired boy and the person on the phone as they converse. You heard him tell the person on the other side of the phone about you having to eat dinner on your own.

After a few minutes, their conversation was over and Tobio put his phone back inside his pocket and grab the paper bags you were holding.

" Was that oba-san? " You asked him as the two of you began to walk again.

He nodded in response.

" What did she say? " You asked him.

" She was asking where I am." He told you.

" And...? I think I heard my name." You inquired.

" I told her that I went to a cafe with you and now where walking home. " He told you in a monotone voice.

"Satisfied?" He asked you.

You nodded.

The two of you arrived infront of your house. You opened the gate and the two of you entered your residence. You walk to the front door while searching for the keys in your pocket. You unlocked the door and opened it. You turned back to Tobio and he handed you the paper bags.

" Thanks. " You thanked him as you took the paper bags from him.

" I'll see you later then. Ja!" He said as he turned away.

" Ok- Wait what?!" You exclaimed confused.

You put down the paper bags to a side table.

He turned to you witha face that says I-Forgot-To-Tell-You.

" Oh. I forgot to tell you that my mom invited you for dinner at my house." He said with an expressionless face.

" Eh?!" You exclaimed suprised.

" I'll be going then." He turns around and made his way to a gate that separates his house and yours.

" See you later at dinner." He waved to you as he opened the gate and closed the gate as he entered his residence.

You sighed and close the front door.

" Well, its been a long time since I ate with the Kageyamas. Haven't seen Tobio's parents in a while though. " You shrug as you took off your shoes and got the paper bags as you proceeded to get ready for dinner.

You rang the doorbell and waited for someone to open the door.

Footsteps where heard coming to the front door and the door opened revealing a straight face Tobio.

" You know you can enter without ringing the bell right?" He said.
