CHAPTER FIVE
GAME ON, MOTHERFUCKER
•
Despite it being a 'school night' Savannah had decided on going out, she was wearing her signature thigh-high boots, a black off the shoulder, and black jeans. Just before she left, with her phone and cash in hand, she peered around Betty's door and asked if she wanted to join her going out.
"Your definition of going out compared to mine are very different," Betty laughed. "Have fun, don't do something you'll regret!"
"Can't regret what you don't remember!" Savannah winked back before leaving the house.
She'd decided against driving, knowing that she wanted to have a drink tonight, and would be unable to if she drove. She walked across the bridge and was roaming through the 'other side of the tracks' when she arrived at somewhere she'd spent a lot of her childhood, due to her father and his habits: the Whyte Wyrm.
She pulled open the door and took in the sight in front of her, boys were drinking and laughing, playing pool, and girls were drinking, and completing what she believed to be the Serpent dance.
She walked up to the bar, people were yet to see her and she didn't mind this, she only came to chill out and destress slightly.
"Well well well, Savannah Jones," She heard as she took a seat at the bar, to her surprise Toni Topaz was stood behind it serving drinks. "You okay girl?" Savannah nodded in reply and asked for something strong. Toni handed her two shots and a Vodka and Coke and Savannah left a ten dollar bill on the bar before downing the two shots and picking up her other drink in the plastic cup.
"Go and make friends, newbie." Toni smiled at her.
She approached the pool tables and watched as two boys were currently playing, she was unsure as to who won as she didn't pay too much attention.
"You continuously keep getting lost on the wrong side of the tracks. I'm beginning to think you're stalking me." She heard a voice say, 'fucking Sweet Pea' she mumbled under her breath as she realised who was talking.
"Maybe I came to kick your ass," She said nodding towards the pool table.
"Twenty dollars says I win." He said.
"Game on, motherfucker."
The game consisted of them throwing insults at each other, and then ended with her winning. She smiled as she took the twenty dollar bill from him, "I'm going to get another drink, you want one?" She asked him.
"That might be the nicest thing you've ever said to me, Jones."
"Don't flatter yourself!" She laughed before walking off to to the bar.
