It's been a week since me and Gray broke up. I guess me and E got a lot closer because of it. Gray hated us both, so we really needed each other. Of course, Gray was still on the team, so we had to put up with him for 2 hours a week. Me and E showed up to practice together last week, both five minutes late, and Gray made us practice without our helmets and shin pads. It was a painful practice session but we learnt our lesson and showed up together on time for both practices we had since.
We walked into the sports hall and, after practice, started butting our gear into our bags. Once we'd locked up, one of the other team members (Jay) invited us all to go six flags with him. It'd be quite awkward if E and I had to put up with Gray for a whole day but we couldn't say no...
Ethan drove us to six flags and everybody else met up with us at the entrance. Gray didn't have a cardigan he tagged along with us too. He insisted on getting an uber and made it very clear that he hates us both but, for some unknown reason, E and I are trying to get back in Gray's good books - so we practically forced him to let us give him a lift there.
We got there and, while we waited for the others, I tried to start a conversation between the 3 of us. It was extremely awkward and either short answers only from Gray or horrible ones, but I kept trying.
"Hey Gray... we haven't spoke for a while..."
"That's because you tried to fuck my brother."
"You know I didn't..."
"You-" he had a furious tone now.
"Lets not bring it up." E pointed out.
"I agree."
"Fine. Doesn't mean I'll forget or forgive."
"Don't expect you to. Believe what you want." E said, keeping as calm as possible.
"You guys like dating now or some shit?" I laughed to try and keep the mood enlightened.
"No. Me and E. Never." I answered with a serious tone and honesty.
"K." That's all he said. Killing tinge conversation much?
"Remember when you made us train without our gear."
"Ha yeah that was funny." Gray smiled. He actually smiled...
"Well it really ducking hurt." I said sarcastically laughing.
"Sorry." Gray said, I couldn't tell if he was being sarcastic or not though. We talked a little while longer and it became a little less awkward. When we saw the other guys walking towards us, E held his hand out with his arm bent - Like you would for arm wrestling.
"Bro, we cool?" He asked Gray.
"I guess." And Gray grabbed E's hand and went in for a man hug. They man-hugged it out and I stood there awkwardly till Gray reached out an arm and told me to join them. It was a cringey ass group hug and when the rest of the team reached us, they took the piss out of us for it and we just went along with it. I'm glad we're all good now.
I hate theme parks but they encouraged me to go on a few rides anyway. My biggest fear was the DC drop of doom. It was super high up and didn't look safe at all. I started panicking about it when they made me queue up but they distracted me by talking about something else. We were so close to the front and I tried to back out. They persuaded me to stick with it though. E and Gray promised to sit either side of me so that I'd be safe. The guy controlling the ride overheard us and promised that I wouldn't need them to hold me up or anything but I wanted them either side of me for security anyway.
We sat in the ride and had our seats checked to make sure they wouldn't come loose on the ride. They prepared us for it and, even though we had VR headsets on, I was still terrified when I felt us go upwards. There was a huge jolt as we went downwards and I got so scared because I stared to slip out of my seat. It shouldn't happen and I was terrified now that I was going to die. I was panicking that I was going to fall so I gripped onto E and Gray's arms either side of me. They lifted their headset up to see what was up and, when they noticed that I'd slipped out slightly, they lifted my thighs upwards so that I was back in my seat. They linked arms with me for the rest of the ride - linked as tight as possible so that I wouldn't slip again. Gray didn't seem annoyed at either of us anymore... maybe he realised jay he thought wrong or maybe he just needed space and time to calm down.
