Spencer:
I saw heads turn and eyes widen. Really, it was too predictable.
I was standing with Hannah and Aria when they walked in and, like I said, all eyes turned in their direction. Her hair hung loosely over her shoulders and the emerald green dress she wore (that was cut way to short for her own good) worked nicely with her pale complexion.
Jenna.
All eyes were on her. She’d been away from school for ages, and no body had seen or heard anything from her. And now, here she was, the same as always. Except, well, she was blind.
All chatter stopped instantly as soon as they walked in, and besides me, Hannah nudged Aria, nodding her head in their direction. Aria nudged me too, but I ignored her, frowning slightly.
There was a boy with Jenna.
She had her arm linked around him, and he was slowly guiding her through the hallway. He was wearing jeans, and a tight shirt that came down to his waist and showed off the shape of his upper body. I bit my lip, wondering if anyone else was noticing this boy.
He was staring straight ahead, his crystal blue eyes meeting nothing but an empty wall.
That was, until he looked at me.
Our eyes met briefly, but as soon as he saw I was looking at him he looked away instantly, focusing on the bare wall again. I put my head down, embarrassed, letting some of my hair fall over my face. Who was that boy?
“Hey Aria,” I said, bringing some sort of noise back into the hallway. A few people had started talking again. Jenna and the boy were gone. “Who was that?” Aria frowned.
“Jenna? Spenc have you forgotten, what she looks like?”
“No not her, the boy she was with.”
“You mean Toby?”
“I – What?” Aria gave me a confused look.
“Toby Cavanaugh,” My face must’ve looked pretty pathetic cause Aria took a step towards me, her voice turning into a whisper. “The one who Ali hated. He was there the night,” Aria looked around uncomfortably, “The Jenna thing happened.”
Realization hit me.
Oh. That Toby.
