The Girl

Hey, my name is Samantha and I am new in town. My friends back home in Ohio liked to call me Sam. Living in New York is so much different than living in Ohio. This year I am entering senior year at West Brooke High School. I hope my fellow peers like country girls like me. I have one dream and that is to sing in Broadway. My dad thought the best way to accomplish that was to move to New York, so here I am. So far, I haven't made many friends. I hope to make friends when school starts.

Tomorrow is the first day of school and I am really nervous... What if the kids don't like me?

                                              ************* A day passes****************

On the bus ride to school, there was a girl named Emily. She said, "I hate that dress, do you live on the poor side?" That was when I realized this was going to be a fun year, I thought to myself sarcastically.

I walked in from the bus to the school entrance singing my favorite song. I noticed a cute boy looking intensely at me, but he didn't say anything. Perhaps, this is really going to be a fun year, I kept thinking to myself.

I went to my locker and got all my books for math class. The teacher said, "Hi, I'm Mrs. Hernandez and I will be your math teacher for this year. Today, we are going to start with some hard multiplication multi-step problems." Emily started to pass out the worksheets. Of course, she had to do something mean and she did. Emily stepped on my brand new shoes, which she knew I loved! After math class, the bell rang and it was time for lunch.

At lunch, she spilled her lemonade on my dress, that my mom gave me before she passed away. That's when I had it, I was done with her pathetic little games! I went to the bathroom and started to cry. I had a headache and called my dad to come pick me up. At the office, I waited for my dad. There was a girl named Lucy. She assured me that everything was going to be ok. She said that we should be friends. That is when I met my first friend.

On the way home, I kept quiet and ran towards my room. My dad knew that I did not have a good day. He came up to my room and gave me a warm hug. His hugs are always helpful.
