(A/N)

hey loves! I can't wait for you to read my story that was born out of a dream that I had the other night. I plan on adding many more parts and I would love your feedback! Just make sure to keep criticism constructive, as this is not a place for hate. Let's go ARMY's! ♡

It was a chilly Thursday night when it all happened. Had you gone anywhere else in the city, it would've been different; life moving forward would've been different.

You were on one of your nightly walks that you cherished, yet cursed yourself for. It was always a good opportunity to just put on music and get out of your head, which was helpful. However, you desperately wished that you could walk with a group of people, or even just one other person. Truthfully, you just wanted to be a part of something.

Although you knew that moving to Seoul for university would be a huge challenge, you didn't expect to have problems making connections with people. You weren't quite fluent in Korean, but you could carry on a conversation just fine and with minimal pauses. You weren't Korean though; it was clear as day that you were a foreigner. Perhaps that made people wary when deciding whether or not to approach you. That's what you told yourself anyway, even though it didn't do much to make you feel better.

So there you found yourself, smack dab in the middle of a huge city with no one to talk to. At this point, it had been almost two months in and you felt like you were going crazy. Growing up with social anxiety, it was never easy to put yourself into situations that required making the first move. You wished that you were someone who could just make friends anywhere she went. You longed for control over your own sad, pitiful life.

You sat yourself down on one of the many park benches and stared out at the Han River. The way the moonlight reflected off of the water was so captivating, it almost took your breath away. You felt a single tear make its way down your cheek. Then, they came in a tsunami of emotions. You entire face was wet and your nose felt stuffed up by the time you had cried yourself out. Even though you were the only one in the park to be seen, you felt like an idiot. Crying over something that anyone else would easily be able to change. It was so frustrating.

"Excuse me... do you mind if I sit here?"

A young man's voice questioned warily. He had a neat mop of dark brown hair nestled in a maroon colored beanie. He wore a white t-shirt under his black peacoat and his skinny jeans were tucked into black combat-style boots. His black face mask sat around his chin. He was indescribably handsome.

Why would he want to sit with you? Why would he want to share a bench when the whole park is practically empty?

Those questions continued to ring in your mind, even as you nodded cautiously at the attractive male. He seemed a bit taken aback that you understood what he said, but relieved at the same time. At least you had the whole language thing going for you.

The two of you sat in stale, awkward silence for a few minutes until you tried to steal a quick glance without him noticing. He met your eyes immediately and smiled softly. Embarrassed, you jerked your head forward again.

"You look like you've been crying. Are you okay?"

His dark brown eyes peeked out at you from behind his side swept bangs. He sounded genuinely concerned, which confused you. Why would he even care? He had no idea who you were! He didn't even know your name. Yet, there was something about him that made all of that irrelevant. You quickly swiped at your face with the sleeves of your oversized sweater in hopes of looking more put together than you felt on the inside.

"Don't worry about me. I'll be okay. I'm just new here, that's all. It's been really difficult for me to make friends..."

You trailed off, knowing that you would just start crying again if you went into any more detail. You sent a gentle smile his way and bowed your head a bit, silently thanking him for asking.

He let out a deep sigh and his facial expression contorted into one of hesitation. He appeared to be contemplating something that was really troubling. Finally, he met your eyes once more.

"Do you have an email? I'm really not supposed to do this, but I know how it feels to be lonely so..."

He looked unsure of himself right after he asked you the question. You wondered what he meant by his words.

I'm really not supposed to do this.

You were so lost in thought that you almost forgot to respond to him.

"Yeah, I do. But I don't even know your name."

You giggled a bit at the thought. This random guy basically just offers to give you his email and he knows virtually nothing about you. What kind of alternate reality was this that you were experiencing? Were there some hidden cameras that you weren't aware of? Was this the matrix? Your were taken out of your conspiracy theories by his voice, yet again.

"I'm Jungkook. It's nice to meet you."

He smiled cutely, his top teeth sticking out a little. He pulled out his phone and started typing something. You were too entranced by his beauty to focus on anything else at that moment. You couldn't believe the turn of events. Just a few moments ago, you were sitting on a park bench, crying your eyes out.

Jungkook showed you his phone screen. The notes app was opened, and there was his email, typed out.

jeon.jungkook at gmail.com

You scrambled to get your phone out and took a picture of the screen. You hoped that he couldn't tell how excited you were.

"What's your name, by the way? I should probably know who I'll be talking to."

He inquired, leaning back into the bench cooly.

"I'm Ella. Thank you for doing this, you really didn't have to..."

As happy as you were, you didn't want anyone taking pity on you. There was nothing quite as bad as a pity friendship in your eyes.

"Don't even worry about it. Look, I have to go but if you ever feel alone, you can email me. Cheer up, okay?"

He raised his hand up for a high-five. When your hands connected, you felt a spark of electricity go through your entire body. From your hand, all the way down your arm and right through to your torso. You waved goodbye as he walked off into the night. Maybe your luck was finally going to change. Maybe you have finally found a friend.
